Hmm, the first one you showed me looked like a set piece from Blade Runner  the others look like something from Pirates of The Carribean . . .

Sorry. I just googled - I remembered one from a "funny" about how that was the place where your tech support calls go. Any Blade Runner similarity was purely accidental. Now I need to see about finding a way to re-watch that movie - it's been ages. :D

I watched it again about three weeks ago. As good today as it's always been.

Played the soundtrack for a few days on Spotify afterwards too. . .

Do it !

Today I managed to snap a few better pictures of my sketch, before packing it up and shipping it to its new owner.

Btw. I used a grid while working on the picture

While being a bit more time consuming, I didn't want to leave much room for guesswork.

Further plans for the near future are to finish my less ambitioned "Summertime Sadness", maybe doing a reproduction of some images from here:

And a blown up version of my Gozilla as a present for a friend who liked the sketch really a lot.

@[member='parkerwasmyfirstlove'], if I may ask, how much time did this sketch take you?

About 20 hours, I guess. But that's ok, I was listening to old Magnum P.I. episodes while working on it.

Beautiful drawing. I just want to stare.

And my OT question... how did you watch Magnum PI ? I don't see it on places like Netflix and such

Pen? Ink?

Pen? Ink?

Oh sorry. Pen: your humble TWSBI ECO in EF.

Ink: Waterman absolute brown.

Paper: CANSON extra white 180 g/ m^2

Magnum: German dub on burning series. I bet you can find it on putlocker.

Funny, actually I prefer the original (not dubbed) versions most of the time (Walking Dead, Sherlock,...) , but I like Magnums german Speaker better, I'm probably biased.

That is nice, I think my longest piece so far is a few hours!

This shall be my final piece in the Rotring for a while, I'm getting back to dip and ink from tomorrow.

This was supposed to be an Inktober sketch, but here it is, a couple of months late. Another piece from Punch, in 1876, where Disraeli was made an earl by Victoria in return for his support in making her Queen of India.

A doodle I made when I bought Iroshizuku's Yama Budo ink recently. Love this color!

Pen: Lamy Safari, medium nib.

Used a waterbrush to add some shading.

Thanks, Sailor! It's actually three-tone (the shop let me mix and match). So fun. :-)

Debbie

Look, I found a dragon in my orange peel!

Used a Lamy Safari and my Noodler's Bulletproof "Blue On The Plains Of Abraham" ink, colored with a waterbrush and some Cotman watercolors.

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.
    • Ceilidh
Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
