Thank you very much for visiting my blog! I just realized The Love Letter is actually pen related, so here it is!

The outline was made with Burnt Sienna drawing ink and a dip pen.

Hello Mattias! I love your work and sense of humor :) Are you using a waterproof ink with your fountain pen? What ink are you using?

Love,

Ewa

Here are another two fairies drawn with Waterman Hemisphere (EF). The ink is Havana Brown by Waterman. When you add water it turns a bit purple.

Doodling with my Waterman 55 on a Quo Vadis cahier.

Gorgeous! Your talents with a flex nib really bring the mane to life. What a stunning "doodle"!!

Hi, Ewa,

Thanks for including the link to your blog in your wonderful fairies posted above. I've had such fun looking at your artwork. Your fairies have so much personality, they've practically burst off the page (screen). :) I can see why you love your new Sheaffer with the flex nib - you make it sing! What are some of your favourite inks to use for drawing? I love the effects you get with water. For example, I never saw Waterman Havannah Brown look so richly complex.

I'm glad you added Love Letter to this thread. It's one of my favourites on your blog. :)

Thanks for sharing!

All,the Best,

Gem

Hi Gem!!!

Thank you very much for taking the time to visit my blog! I don't have that many inks but here are some illustrations along with a short description...

J.Herbin Cacao du Bresil : I absolutely love this ink!!! I use it for drawing with my pen but I really love using it as a wash. The colour is beautiful! In this sketch I added some salt on the roof to see what happens and the ink got a bit more browny orangy rosy where the salt was.

http://ewaludwi.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/rain.jpg

J.Herbin Lie de The: I think I've already posted a drawing I made with this ink. It does the most amazing things if you splatter water on it. The wash turns orange green red and grey. The flow is sadly a bit dryer than Cacao and there is a bit more laddering...or maybe it's just my pen?

http://ewaludwi.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/waterspirit.jpg?w=500&h=757

J.Herbin Poussière de Lune: Beautiful colour and the flow is very, very nice! I used it for both sketches but the upper one is a photo so it's a bit darker and orangy...The scan shows the colour better.

http://ewaludwi.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/rose-garden.jpg?w=500&h=700

http://ewaludwi.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/cemetery.jpg?w=500&h=666

Rohrer & Klingner Alt Bordeaux: The colour is very lovely and saturated and when dilluted with water (in the pen) it's a soft faded pink...maybe similar to Bouquet d'antan by Herbin.

http://ewaludwi.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/vine-fairy.jpg?w=500

Rohrer & Klingner Sepia: This ink is beautiful!!!! It reminds me of cacao du Bresil but it is warmer and the flow is even better!

http://ewaludwi.files.wordpress.com/2012/07/fae.jpg?w=500&h=722

Waterman Purple: I only use Waterman cartridges for my Hemisphere but I must say I prefer J. Herbin and Rohrer&Klingner inks...I found this purple a bit too light but the colour is nice I think

http://ewaludwi.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/water-baby-41.jpg?w=500

Well that's all for now....I still have Königsblau by R&K which I haven't tried yet, Perle Noire by Herbin which I love but I haven't done any sketches with it yet and some Waterman cartdriges (Green, Florida Blue and Black...and Havanna) but these are my favourites so far :)

I hope you like it!

Ewa

A sketch I just completed for this week's blog post (on sketching with toned paper) -- watercolor and white highlights over Japanese fude brush pen & Chinese vermilion "chop" ink on tan Fabriano Rome paper. (Hopefully the article will be out tomorrow. )

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
