I have to echo the cries for the Lamy 2000. It is a pen with great design, good quality for the price, and is also a piston-filler. It is great German design to the core.

Thats a lot of pens, just had a look at most of them! Indeed we have similar tastes thanks. Cheap pens are great as i'm a student and i can't really afford much :crybaby: hehe. Lamy studios are quite nice, along with the 2000. still the 2nd generation 600s are my favourite looking pen, one day i vow to get one!

From all the pens on this list, personally I like the Hemisphere best, but I have the Mars (glossy) and I am not too happy with it,so my next buy is going to be a Studio Black

For everyday use, probably the best pen on my list is the Lamy Safari, but it's not really a looker,so that might turn you off.I am also a student and use the Hemisphere as my main pen.

Hope I was of some help with you finding a pen you might like.

Oh, I love the safari, I think in the black with the chrome clip although it doesnt look expensive it has an air of simplicity which i like, it isn't textured and is quite basic (something i really like in the old rotring 600s) at the moment its probably my favourite pen as i get on with the grip really well!

You know, I'm very fond of my Lamy Nexx, and I think it's rather industrial looking. It's dependable, not fussy, and writes beautifully. Cheap enough to toss in a backpack and not worry if something happens to it.

I like clean designs. I don't want a pen that looks like jewellery.

I'd throw the Libelle Chromatic Collection in there as well. The gunmetal in particular appealed to the industrialphile in me.

Keep up with everything going on in our shop and our region! News and other stuff on our Facebook page.

What about a black, Omas Emotica? It won a design award, and is very modern.

What else do we have in life if not to help each other?

Thats nice, the price tag isn't though. I would love to try a Ti nib but i don't think i could ever bring myself to shell out that much on a pen . . .

I don't understand why people buy pens for looks rather than to write with, It baffles me. Thats why i like 'form follows function' hehe

Well I care how it writes, but when I see a pen I don't know how it writes,I can just judge looks, and if I am interested in buying,I will do research and see if it's any good.

Fair point, I do pretty much the same, i need the pen to look good (in my terms thats usually simplicity yet not overly smooth) but how it writes is the priority. No point having a nice looking pen if you can't write nicely with it. Another reason for me to like the safari :D

Something else you might want to look at are the Michael's fat boy pens. I saw them at the Chicago pen show. They are very unusual looking and definitely industrial. Although they are big, they are really light and well-balanced. Much better than the Rotring 600 IMO, but I like the way the 600 looks.

Life is a series of compromises.....
