PM sent for one with a fine nib, if you're willing to send it over to Malaysia.

Thanks.

Hello, many of you may have followed the threads in which an inexpensive piston-filling pen was designed with community input from all over the world on English and Chinese languag BBSes. See the thread on FPN here and the thread on the newer vacuum filler here (the vacuum filler is still a ways off, we have the piston filler ready though).

Anyways, after a long time in waiting (and one Red Dot Design award later), the decision has been made to offer the first 300 off of the production line to users of the FPN. These will be final production-ready pens from the TWSBI Pen company, a company with a long history of making pens.

Since you guys are writers, i'll skip to the important parts:

Pen Model: TWSBI Diamond 530

Pen Trim: The trim that will be available for this 300 piece run will be the clear demonstrator with chrome bits. Here's a picture of mine

Here's a picture of what the final packaging you will receive will look like:

The Nib: The nibs used are Schmidt steel nibs. I like mine. The sizes available here are EF/F/M. There are 10,000 nibs at the factory, so there aren't any limits on what nib you can choose. Also, as to the size, I would say that the nibs are "Western" sized as far as the widths of EF/F/M.

Here's what my nib looks like:

post-36420-127203733481.jpg

Price: The pens will be sold for $39.99 a piece, with $7.99 SHIPPING, regardless of # of pens ordered. YES, I WILL SHIP TO EUROPE/CANADA. Postage to Canada is $7.99, Europe is on a case-by-case basis.

Payment is through Paypal (cash or credit is ok).

Shipment/Logistics: The pens are expected in May/June. Due to a lack of a firm ship date, this thread will initially put people "in line" for a pen. When I have a ship date, I will send a Paypal invoice for the balance 2-3 weeks prior to shipping so that I can purchase the pens and get everything ready. I will email you when I ship the item, provide a tracking number, and you will receive the package after about 1 week from shipment.

To reserve your place in line, please post how many (and in what nib sizes) you would like. Also post/pm me your email address so I will be able to contact you for invoicing/shipment/etc ATTN: Mods, I hope this thread is within the rules! Please let me know by PM if I need to change anything or if this needs to be moved :)

I really wonder if any of the original 300 will see the public sale outside of FPN.... I think first production run may have to be increased just to meet pre-orders.

I think of my FPs as my children.

PM sent for one fine point nib. I have to admit, I'm pretty excited to get this pen, as it's my first demonstrator!

Ok, I am back up and processing orders again. I am closing in on the "100 pens left" mark! So much work this weekend, but I am nearing daylight roflmho.gif

Speedy has enough nibs to make 5,000-10,000 pens. These will probably come on the broader market pretty shortly after the FPN presale. Twsbi's eBay store and potentially some US/Canadian/EU retailers will offer these outside the community. I am glad I live in Taiwan so I can go to the coolest pen store on Earth and pick them up in person!

In my completely personal opinion, I think it's best to pre-sale to a self-selected group of writers, collectors, and enthusiasts first. Those people will see the value of the pen most readily.
