Morgan pen and pencil set.

I have acquired a broken down fountain pen and pencil set with ‘Morgan’ engraved on the clips. The nib says ‘Genius Germany’ on it. The pen and pencil are a creamy / opal colour with swirls of maroon shapes in a marbled appearance. Gold to the flat ends of the cap and barrel. The filler system is a lever. The clips are both gold and have small gold spheres at the end of each. I am trying to figure out what these are and as I am new to the subject don’t know if they are collectable or not. Thanks

Genius is a Taiwanese manufacturer IIRC and it is likely what you have is a third tier generic pen. They can be pretty, some are even great writers, but not likely German at all.

There was a Morgan Pen and Pencil company in NY. Can't tell you much about them but the pictures you show are typical of pens of the period. My best guess is that the nib is not original to the pen and the original nib was sold off the last time gold prices soared.

 

It could be a fun project pen.

I have about 14 Morgan fountain pens and a few mechanical pencils.

 

They were made at the Morgan Pen and Pencil Co. 116 Nassau Street in New York in the 1930's/1940's mostly 3rd tier quaility, but some nice colours. Slight variations in the clip styles, bands etc similar to epenco, congress, majestic, ambassador pens of the same era. Almost always a gold plate or steel nib...

I have never ran across one that had its company brand or info engraved in the barrel like most 1st tier pens.
