Sailor Realo fell and it broke in two :-(

I was on a tile floor and dropped my pen from about waist level (brand new, fine point and wrote like a dream) and the pen just shattered into two pieces right where the clear plexiglass ink window is.

Can't believe it. I guess this was meant as a desk pen in a carpeted office.

I will try to use polymethylmethacrylate and bond it back together (alas with no value). I won't be travelling with this pen any more (if I can fix it).

Does anybody know if they sell barrels alone?

Regards,

Jerry

Before doing any repairs, try contacting Sailor. They'll probably fix the pen.

A lot of pens will break if you drop it on a tile floor from that height. Pens that have an ink window joint can have a tendency to break at that junction.

DO NOT USE polymethylmethacrylate! It isn't water-proof and will weak from the ink. Contact Houndstooth/Sailor for service.

Ack! You have my sympathy. Here's wishing you a good repair by Sailor/Houndstooth.

I came here for the pictures and stayed for the conversation.

Sorry for your misfortune!

Please let us know how it works out - some of us may find ourselves in a similar situation one of these days and it would be nice to know how the manufacturer responds.

Sorry this happened, Jerry. I would be interested to hear how Sailor responds. Please keep us posted.
