Good Quality Index Cards?

It has been years since I used them, so imagine my surprise when I discovered that garden variety index cards are now only slightly thicker than regular paper. What a let down. Does anyone know of a good brand of index cards that use real card stock and are smooth and fountain pen friendly, like the cards I used as a kid?

Exacompta has nice index cards in two sizes the last I looked. Check the Daily Planner, Lincoln Stationers or the Exaclair web site for links to retailers.

Greetings.Levenger sells a variety of fountain pen friendly index cards.

A pity they're vertically oriented or personalized. My preference is standard horizontal layout, line or unlined, but certainly not personalized or graph format.

I can get my hands on the Exacompta index cards, but they're only graphed. If that's not what you want then don't bother with them. For what it's worth though, they're very FP friendly.

You might look at this thread, and see if any of those will work for you.

My experience with Levenger index cards is that they are not FP friendly at all, however that was a year or two ago now. I don't believe anything has changed given comments in this forum. The Exacompta cards are exceptional.

I have a bunch of the Levenger index cards and their ok, but the best I've found are the Tops brand that I tried from Target stores

+1 I have them in 3 different styls as well as the wallet cards and they work great with my nice wet pelikan.

The last Oxford cards I got, (may not have been the Oxford Essentials, but were 4x6 from Target) were pretty sad. Thin, rough surface and feathered like crazy. I've gotten some Tops that are much smoother, don't feather, but aren't all that heavy.

I've gone to cutting my own 4x6's from Classic Crest Cover Sub 80/218 g/m weight in Solar White. Domtar Cougar 80 or 100 cover weight would be a good, less expensive second choice.
