Kyowa Report Pad

Recommended Posts

Since I could not find mention of this paper, I thought I would post my 2 cents. It is an A size, 34 lines, 7 mm ruled, 210 x 297 mm, 50 sheets, and lined.

I have 5 different Japanese brands of paper. I've tried more, but these are the ones that work best with fountain pens. Some of these pads have only kanji so I couldn't tell you the maker. Of these 5, my favorite is a Kokuyo letter writing pad, of which I've only seen in Japan. But, the Campus Report Pads are excellent and the Kyowa Report Pad is identical in every way.

So if you come across this brand, do not hesitate to try it. This Kyowa Report Pad cost $1.49 each.

I'm a big fan of the Kokuyo Campus notebook paper, too. Where did you find the Kyowa Report Pad? Any leads on where to find them on the mainland?

I believe this is what I use. I buy mine from Japantown in San Francisco for $0.99, A4 size, 50 sheets, 6 mm ruled. It has a blue cover and is labeled with a "B" (the one labeled with an "A" has lower-quality paper, I've noticed, definitely more porous).

I can't read any of the characters, but I think it's what you're talking about?

Could you post a picture of the cover? I'm going to Kinokuniya and other stores in SF Japantown next week, and would like to keep an eye out for it.

Don't feel bad. I'm old; I'm meh about most things.

Elena, if you are still watching this thread, THANKS FOR THE PAD! I love it unequivocally ! I like the way it feels even better than the Clairefontaine. Only difference is you can't write on both sides. But then it is thinner. No matter, even needing twice as many pads that's still a savings of $5/Clairefontaine!!! I bow to the notworthy1.gifPaper Queen! notworthy1.gif

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
