At this price point, I know I'm going to have one. Make mine a demonstrator, please.

+1 (or possibly 2!) on this. Any chance of a UK agent/dealer?

Derick

I am in Taiwan, and am planning to mail a bunch of TWSBIs to friends in America once I can pick them up here.  I think UK shipping is similar/lower cost (so about 40USD for pen and shipping from TW), so i'll probably post an offer to ship pens direct from Taiwan that I purchase at retail once I nail down logistics (read: once I get through the 10-15 friends i need to buy pens for lol).  This is assuming of course that there are no other arrangements for international distribution that will yield a better price for the end user.

Great! I shall keep an eye on this.

Distributors in Taiwan itself?

I have a Taiwanese friend I could ask to help me get one, but I need to know where to tell him to get it.

This store in Daan, Taipei will have them

Oh, and PS, the padded envelopes from the TW post office are the cheapest/easiest way to mail something abroad. No customs BS, and it's only 260NT to mail to the US.

A piston-filler under $50 is a true (and much needed) miracle.

And a demonstrator too...

:puddle:

How can you get them in the U.S. (your online stores all appear to be in Chinese/Japanese, and, being a Western illiterate, I can't read funny characters)?

I really like the looks of this pen. It seems to address my one issue with Pelikans which is the short section length. I'm Goldilocks when it comes to nib widths so hopefully it'll be available in a Western-XF-that-is-wider-than-a-Japanese-F-but-narrower-than-a-Japanese-M nib width that I favour.

Maybe there's been a discussion on the pronunciation already, but I'm reading TWSBI to rhyme with "frisbee".

Hari (a member here) was selling some Dollar (brand) piston-fill demonstrators (probably still is); they were just a tad too short for me. I'm hoping these will be closer to what I've been looking for.

As far as colors, if this takes off (as I believe it will), how about many, many available colors? Give the Lamy and their Safari a run for their money! That's the ticket! :clap1:

alumimium piston, and more colors of barrel will come gradually.

Cheers.

Speedy, is the nib available in EF (0.5mm line) or EEF (0.4mm) for those of us who like fine nibs? :)

We only have M, F, EF, no EEF. pls refer my post about linewidth

It should sound like 'twisbee", yes. Thank you, I was bothered how to teach people to pronounce twsbi.

I can't wait for this pen either, I will definitely buy this as soon as it becomes available. (Also, lets hope shipping does not cost $10, although I'd still buy it)

And sorry if this has been answered before, but what will be the selection of nibs? Any italic?

Current available nib size M, F, EF, no italic yet.

Start thinking your wish list for our third project.... The second project of vacuum filling pen is on the way, hahaha!

Maybe a demonstrator lever or button filler with a crystal clear sac? (At least 1/2 in jest.)

you mean the piston system mechanism in clear material? Well, by PC (same material as body) is possible, but current one we use POM has sort of self lubrication feeling, reduce the friction, so it is more suitable for moving mechanism parts.

Any informations about the size of the pen (how long, large etc.) and the nib (flex or not, soft or not...) ? - sorry if I missed the info. on the thread.

Very nice pen, by the way, and at a very attractive price!

It is about the size of M800, but nib size small than M800

No, I mean a lever filling system like vintage Esterbrook J series pens have, or button fillers like the Merlin 33. Take a look at Richard Binder's filler reference page http://www.richardspens.com/ref/fillers.htm and look under 'Button' and 'Lever'. Both use a device to compress and release a flexible sac. About the only way it would make an interesting demonstrator would be if the sac was completely transparent and reasonably resistant to staining. I'm not sure that such a sac is available. I've never seen anything like this, the clear sac probably isn't practical. But this design would take a classic FP filling system and turn it into a demonstrator in the spirit of your first two TWSBI pens.

The up side is that there aren't very many lever/button fillers made today; add that to the the clear demonstrator look and you would have something completely unique. And you could do something interesting with the pressure bar, chrome, patterns on the bar, etc. A leverless filler would be in the same vain.

Downside, lever fillers are not that popular, and the technical issue might make the design not cost effective to manufacture.

Hope that explains what I meant.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
