Recife Crystal: Replacement brand nib/feeds?

Recommended Posts

I got a recife crystal, love the design, but hate the nib/feed. The flow isn't very good(even with well behaved inks) and the nib is super stiff.

Is there any other brand that could fit in here if sent to a nibmeister for adjustment? Could I for example buy a vintage Montblanc nib and some other feed section and make it work in this body? Has anyone done anything like this? What size/type of nib/feed would you recommend? I'm looking for a nice and springy nib, and a feed that will hold up well to most any type of ink(including the famous baystate blue if possible but not necessary, as Ill have a P51 just for that job)

In case you cant tell, Im just a fountain pen newbie here thinking of what to me would be an AWESOME frankenpen, and seeing some nicely priced Montblanc nibs in the market thought it might be worth a try.

Thanks

EDIT: I just bought 2 of these nibs from Mr Goldfink(thanks!)

Do you think they will fit the Recife crystal well? If not, got any other ideas for me?

I picked up a Recife pen many years ago and somewhere along the line it fell on its tip and damaged the nib. Tried to repair it myself, but it never worked very well after the accident. I replaced the nib with a nib from another pen and it seems to be working fine--in fact, better than the original nib. The nib I used came from a Bulow X450. The size of the nib seems a bit larger than the original nib, but it is working nonetheless. A Bulow nib is fairly cheap, I believe.
