Changing a Lamy Safari nib

Even easier than that? I use a wide 1/4" rubber band. Use the rubber band to grip the nib on the flank. Pull it off the feed front-ways, towards the nib's tip. Reinsert the new nib in reverse.

I swap nibs in about 10-15 seconds on my Safaris.

I'm liking this idea. Thanks for sharing.

I used the tape method and changed my nib in 10 - 15 seconds. And it was my first time!

Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional.

Never be afraid to try something new.

Same here - works perfectly. Less than 30 seconds to take one out and slide the new one in.

 Alright, I was feeling quite stupid so I sat down and re-read instructions that twdpens provided and SUCCESS!!!

The key is this:

3. Holding the pen level in one hand with the nib uppermost, wrap the tape around the index finger of the other and apply a gentle downwards force.

 THANK YOU!

I thought I read in this forum where you can get an italic nib for the Al-Star or Safari.... you can't at that website! I must be dreaming, eh?

But where do you buy the nib without buying a whole new pen? I'm looking for fine nibs for my Lamy Al-Star and Sensa Meridian, with no success.

You can purchase them from the Lamy website. http://www.lamyusa.com/alstar3.html for the Al-Star; not sure about the Sensa Meridian.

Look for replacement nibs for the Lamy Joy, they fit perfectly.

Looking for interesting Sheaffer OS Balance pens

Karynv: Jetpens.com sells nibs for the Safari series.
