To all teachers: What color do you use to grade papers and homework?

I just use whatever color is handy (except black, for obvious reasons). I don't really think deeply about it or worry about it. Whatever color is at hand is what I use: oranges, reds, greens, purples, golden browns, blues, whatever.

And, if red is a barrier to student learning, do the same grading in another color. Does it matter as long as the comments are constructive and stand out?

Coming from a college student - Red please! It stands out and makes the corrections/marks easy to read. I'd rather pick out all the mistakes quickly than spend 10 minutes searching around for them, and then get bored and loose interest.

The colour red won't hurt my feelings, promise.

Went for Red Dragon in the end. The TWSBI ink bottles make it practical to use 30ml Diamines, so that means more inks more often! The difference between it and Oxblood is slight, but it's not got the brownness, which is what I was after. I'll definitely give Matador a try next time - it's really nice.

I quite fancy an orange ink at some point. Like I said, my mildly fascistic department insists on red, so I interpret that as "not green, blue or black" - hence my love of Deep Magenta. That works really well in my 1968 Duofold Junior.

Better a witty fool than a foolish wit.

As a student I don't really care what my teachers use as long as it's not the color that I'm using. I had a teacher use pencil once which just really peeved me off. There was some problems with my answers looking like her corrections so I got points taken off for things that were right. Though unfortunately she never believed me that I was right. After that everything I turned in to her was written in purple.
