+1 for Diamine imperial purple, which i am currently using in a .9 mm stub. I also really like OMAS violet. I have PR purple mojo, which is nice but not as nice as imperial purple.

What's so good about Imperial compared to PR Purple Mojo?

Lamy Purple is a true, very balanced purple. Unfortunately, only available as cartridges! :crybaby:

I use Poussiere de Lune for work. It's dark enough to look professional yet distinctive. Makes my chicken scratch look 'eclectic' and 'unique' rather than just plain messy. It also has very nice shading when used with a B nib, IMHO.

I really love Lamy purple too! +1 for bottling it!

My PR Plum is growing stuff (sludge on the bottom of the jar) but it's a great color. I only dare to use it in my disposables now.

I've got Violet Pensee in the mail and am very excited to try it!

I just picked up a bottle of Private Reserve Ebony Purple today and it's GORGEOUS, if you like a darker purple shading towards black (which I obviously do).

+1 on PR Ebony Purple. I love this color so much. I put it in my Lamy with a broad nib and OMG! It's a beautiful dark, rich purple. It makes me want to write more!

:puddle:

my pens and their inks:

pelikan m205 blue (demonstrator) w/ noodler's manhattan blue

lamy vista (demonstrator) w/ private reserve orange crush

lamy al-star (green) w/ montblanc racing green

lamy safari (pink) w/ montblanc violet

pelikan future (silver) w/ noodler's baystate blue

+1 on the writing more. I'm looking for excuses to write with it!

Is it darker than Poussierre de Lune?

Count another one here for Waterman Violette. It has a lot of life to it and yet is never crass or garish. With purple being a blend of red and blue, some purple inks tend more toward the red and others toward the blue. Violette is to my eye almost right in the middle, with perhaps a few drops into the dominant blue. That gives it a very cool and elegant look, very close to the colour of violets in the wild. I would also consider it to be in the middle range from light to dark. The fact that it flows well in every pen in which I have used it is another plus. I just love it!

My wife and daughters loves Waterman purple. They like the brightness of it. My taste in purples is very different. My favourite are darker purples. My three favourite are Diamine Damson (has grey rather than red undertones), MB Violet and Noodlers Wampum. I do have others CdA Storm, Herbin Poussiere de Lune, Diamine Imperial purple but they just aren't quite my thing. At least have fun trying all these purples!!

Lamy Violet is a great color. I'm guessing it has to do with sales volume as to why it's only in carts, but I think it would make a good run as a bottled ink.

I like a lighter lavender or medium purple.
