Lamy History

So I've been looking for the past year into making a complete lineup of all the pens Lamy ever produced and their history. This has given me a rather well-filled excel sheet with lots of info on Lamy and all their pens. Most things before 1970 are rather clear to me, as well as everything from 1985 or so on, but the period in between is quite fuzzy.

For example: The Lamy 25P and 26P line was apparently sold in the 1980's, but they took international cartridges. The safari's in the other hand were produced from 1980 on, and they take Lamy's own cartridges. To make things even more confusing, I read everywhere that Lamy only started producing its own ink in 1989?

Is there anyone who can shed some light on this?

Help? Why am I buying so many fountain pens?

Sirksael, Lamy.com will show a rather extensive pen history (under "Design Highlights"), but there are indeed quite a few models not shown. Your best bet it to try contacting sellers of vintage Lamy pens and ask them if they have any info.

Also, have you seen Stephen Proctor's website?

Yeah, I have seen this website. I don't know this person, but I tried to contact him as I have some info and some of the books he asks for, but no reply, so I wonder if he is still maintaining that site.

I would also like to aquire some vintage Lamy catalogs, but until today no luck. Perhaps I should visit more penshows...
