I think i have narrowed it down to one of these two but can not make up my mind. What are your experiences with these?

I've been told that leather pen cases can prematurely damage pens due to the tanning chemicals in the leather. Not sure if there is any truth to this or not.

Having owned both until just recently, I can tell you that the leather in the Libelle wrap is softer, but that the leather in the Levenger has more character (the pebbling is great). I ended up selling the Levenger wrap because I didn't need two, and I liked the idea of the protective flap to keep errant pens from falling out if they weren't clipped in nice and tight (which DID happen).

Hard to go wrong with either one of them, though. Both are nice quality. I've had the Libelle wrap for three years now and it's always done a good job for me.

I have the Levenger wrap and like it a lot. I like the pebble grain leather and the plaid lining. Pens CAN fall out if not clipped in though.

Does the Levenger wrap have layer that covers the pen tops the way the Libelle does?

The picture would indicate that it doesn't. Which is why I bought the Levenger wrap from rroossinck. I like being able to get to a pen without having to unravel the wrap. I've dropped mine once and fortunately none of the pens came out. There were clipped in but I'm not sure what would happen if they weren't.

I've had this one from Aston for several years. The leather is very soft.
