Recommend me a pen to match a silver dialed Omega watch

I need help finding a pen to match the watch.

 

Well, I have that watch. My daily writer is a trusty Lamy 2000. Sometimes, for special ocasions, I would like to combine my pen with my watch, and really, the silver-dialed Seamaster Aqua Terra would look better along a stainless steel / silver pen than with a black pen. Of course, if Lamy were still selling the "inverted", limited, "2000 Edition" Lamy 2K's I would buy one, but sadly, those were gone fast. So here is my criteria for the pen:

 

1. Stainless steel or silver

 

2. Piston filler. No converter. I write a lot and need a lot of ink.

 

3. Available in XF.

 

4. Understated. No "bling". It doesn't have to be understated to the point of the L2K.

 

Would prefer to be able to buy new.

MB 146 in stainless

1- Pelikan M625. I don't know if it's available in XF; and it's only partially silver. But a perfect piece to match your Omega.

 

2- If you were OK with convertors, I'd say Caran d'Ache Varius Ivanhoe or, more reasonably, Ecridor. CdA's convertors are magnificent and its nibs are really smooth, whether gold or steel.

An Omega is a precision instrument.

 

Today I believe that there is only one fountain pen company making pens with the attention to even the most mudane detail found in watches like your Omega, and that is ST Dupont.

 

Find an opportunity to examine one. Hold it, use it, recap it.

Some one out bid me for 12 Omaga pens...English....6 were doubles..one had a glass nib..Keep E-baying Global Omaga fountain pens.

 

Good luck, very nice looking 1930's-40's style pens. Omaga printed very clearly on them Near NOS......

 

Out bid some two weeks ago...so by now some one should have them and be putting the extra up for sale.

 

Check the watch forums too.

I wanted 4 or five of them.

Parker "51" in black with coin silver cap. Gray might work too.

 

Nice watch! I just bought a 1956 Bulova 23 Jewel in nice cosmetic shape on eBay, will have to replace the crystal and clean and oil, but I've wanted a 1956 for some time (cause I was born that year).

....not a piston fill, but a Sheaffer Targa in stainless would be an excellant accompanyment.

I'd recommend that you take a look at the Visconti Ripple that Bryant has for sale in Sterling Silver and Clear Acrylic - it's a stunning pen and would match your watch nicely. It's not a piston filler but it's just as good I think.

 

Edit: I doubt that you'd classify it as "understated" however. It would possibly "upstage" the watch.
