DocNib

Recommended Posts

Holiday greetings from DocNib's PenEmporium! I've been fortunate enough to get several different "consignment" lots from a long-time pen-friend, one of which loved anything Montblanc, Waterman filigree & metal overlays and another fun model, the Parker Vacumatic. So far I've received the Montblanc group & what FUN they are! These are being sold as a lots only, so take a look...

BUT 1ST, HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM DOC NIB, MOKO & YOSHII (AND NURSE NIBBLE!)...

1) #144 celluloid 2-stroke metal piston fill FP from 1950's w/ambered ink reservoir window, Ivory "Snow-Cap" on cap-top, cork inside stuck in place & some ink on inner window (looks dark in picture), 14C Fine 2-tone MB nib (nice writer when dipped), marked 146 & EF on piston knob, minimal brassing on trim along w/no visible dings or dents, will need some cleaning out inside, very good condition...

2) #146 celluloid 2-stroke metal piston fill FP from 1950's w/ambered ink reservoir window, Ivory "Snow-Cap" on cap-top, cork inside moves freely & partially fills, ink reservoir window is ambered but quite clean, 14C X-Fine 2-tone MB nib (nice writer when dipped, marked 146 & EF on piston knob, minimal brassing on trim along w/no visible dings or dents, may need new cork inside, very good condition...

3) 146 "customized" with D'Holder custom knife blade set where nib would usually go, very well known Arizona Knife Maker with his logo etched one of blade, only about a dozen of these were made (not sanctioned by MB), 2nd one I've obtained, excellent condition & always a surprise when someone new opens up the pen...

4) 149 "Diplomat" FP from 1972 w/one-piece barrel & translucent ink reservoir window, 14C 2-tone BBB (Triple Broad, not so easy to find!) barely used butter-smooth nib, all resin and GP trim parts are still gleeming and show no visible dings or dents, perfect working fill mechanism, feed & nib, excellent FP...

Hey, Doc Nib, which one is you in the photo? the one with the grey and white hair?????

Merry Christmas from a very very satisfied customer, and I hope that 2010 brings much joy and peace.

Merry Christmas to one of the nicest people on the face of the earth, now an inkwell conaisseur extroardinaire! They say our pups look like their masters and in this case, Moko (on the left) and I do quite a bit. Same hair color and furry faces, same temperament and sometimes I even walk on all fours (if my back goes out! :D).

Say hello to Dexter from my gang & hope he'll be celebrating Christmas with you & having lots-o fun! Also, hope your health is better and here's to increased ZEN in 2010 (we all need lots of it!).

Cheers,

DOC

If only they weren't bundled into trays... that 1989 149 would be perfect for me. (the year I was born)

Sorry folks, the Montblanc "lot" has been SOLD! Lots of of you wanted certain pieces separately, but seller was adamant about selling the whole group in one shot (his pens, his rules!).

I've been incapacitated the last couple of days due to a concussion & fractured rib after slipping on some ice while walking one of the pups in the early AM (it's been one of those years!). Totally invisible "black ice" and nobody to help except for my 130-lb. Akita, which actually laid down next to me & kept licking my face until I opened my eyes a couple of minutes later (which actually helped!). Man's Best Friend (as the saying goes), after my wife, OF COURSE!

The cobwebs have cleared & I'm getting back into the swing of things, so bear with me...new batch of goodies just arrived!

Happy Holidays to All!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
