Grifos Lion Rampant...beautiful pen and a wonderfully wet writer.

I only have 3 sterlings and like them all-- a Sheaffer Imperial, a Mabie Todd Vest, and an Eversharp Ventura. My favorite is the unlikeliest one -- the Eversharp. Just based on its superb looks (precise lines, subtle stripes), heft (slim but dense), and balance, it wins. The nib is a good F with no flex but quite pleasurable for smallish writing. It surprises me that this pen doesn't have more of a following, and imo is an unknown/underrated gem.

Happy to also respond to this zombie thread (raised from the dead!). Here's a shot of my Parker 75 Sterling Cisele.

Sorry for the poor cell phone pic, but it's just another Parker 75 Cisele that we've all seen many a time, 'cept that it does have some extra printing on the cap lip, something or other about Spanish treasure, whatever that means. ;)

The Spanish Treasure "75" was one of the first "Limited Edition" pens I am aware of and was issued in 1965/66 IIRC. The silver was from Spanish silver from the silver fleet sunk back in 1715 and recovered by Mel Fisher off the Florida coast. With the original box and papers it would be worth something north of $1000.00.

In addition to the markings on the band there should be Mexican hallmarks on the cap and body end pieces.

I've got a small pile of sterling pens, picked up over time. My favorites of the bunch are the Sheaffer Imperial Touchdown (so much that I have 2) and the Pelikan M625. The Parker Cisele was also purchased from Richard Binder as part of one of his monthly tray offerings, and reportedly was a part of his personal collection for awhile. They are:

Pelikan M625

Sheaffer Imperial TD x2

Sheaffer 834

Sheaffer 826

Parker Sonnet Cisele (early version, 1993)

Parker 75 Cisele (flat ends)

Silver Eagle (USA, approx late 90's, early. 2000's)

Fun thread.

I have a Waterman silver overlay ring top. It is a eyedropper safety but needs repair so I have never used it. I have 4 Parker 75's. One has an extra fine nib and one has an italic nib. I like both of them but seldom ever use any of them.

And the end of all our exploring

Will be to arrive where we started

And know the place for the first time. TS Eliot

I need more Sterling Pens now

Anyone do a modern overlay pen?

Henry Simpole does quite a few.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
