I have been informed that the companion FP to the full sterling silver Coronet injector pencil (for pics of this pencil see Item 9287 of David Nishimura site) is 'so rare as to be on the verge of being a legend'. I hope the moderator would look kindly to my reference of David's website (for the record it is for reference only and not an endorsement etc.) Does a companion FP exists? Are there any literatures such as catalogue, advertisement etc. to confirm its existence?

Now that's a difficult question ;-) I've been collecting Wahl-Eversharps for a few years now and I've seen no such ads/other materials whatsoever. There are some Coronet ads out there (e.g. one that shows a half-covered pen in black Pyralin and with Rhodium or GF cap or another one that shows some Dorics, Pacemakers and a GF Coronet set) but I haven't seen any ads/catalogue pages showing sterling silver pens or pencils so far. I do have a half-covered Coronet set w/ Rhodium trim and even these aren't so common as to crop up very often (that's the only one I've seen in all those years and I can't find any pics on the net either). I've posted some pics in this forum some time ago so you might want to take a look - I also have a similar, compact sized pencil but it's also with Rhodium finish, not sterling silver and it has no pattern either.

That being said, a sterling silver Coronet pen may or may not exist: several Coronet style injector pencils were not meant to have a companion FP so it might as well be the case with that sterling silver pencil out there. And speaking of legends, there were, once upon a time in the late 30s, some Coronet pens made up of solid gold and with real diamond inserts and these were supposedly presented to the most important international heads of state. However, no one has ever seen any of these pens so they are believed to be a legend (no one has ever seen any of these pens and some of these *should* have come up at various auctions, e.g. Christie's, Bonhams, Sotheby's etc.,) rather than reality but then...who knows? ;-)

P.S. this is a very interesting topic and I hope Syd will chime in as well since he will no doubt have a lot more info on these pens than I'll ever had (...so I'll keep tabs on this conversation too!)

Take care
