i was reading some posts (about herbin inks) and i mentioned my errrr being a slytherin (dont ask) and someone posted a reply about the snake-ness of a certain pen from http://www.hisnibs.com/ouguwen.htm called 'ouguwen', i dunno wot it means...but i found the same pen in another website and there its called 'Crocodile'. i find the pen look interesting (except the fact that it has got a reverse logo of lacoste) cos of the eyes......has anyone got any experience with this particular pen?

I actually have a pen called the Cobra made by Elysee (no longer made). It doesn't have eyes but it does have a really nice snakeskin body.

I've never seen that - but have you seen the Signum Python? No eyes, but that's one cool looking pen.

I LOVE the green one. Nib should be great, too...

Wow, no I had never seen those...what beauties! My favorites were the Lime and the Natural. I didn't realize this before but, apparently, I have a couple of pens with a reptilian theme.

There you go, a focus for your collection! :)

I have a Signum Orione and love it, so I can definitely see myself saving up for that lime Python... or making it the sole item on my Christmas list!

My Christmas list has already been over-populated so I'll have to come up with a different approach for mine. :bunny1: <-- Is this a Macarana or a Chicken Dance Bunny?

This crocodile pen is wrapped in australian crocodile skin. The section is plastic, and it uses a cartridge. I think that the barrel and cap are metal, and I guess it is a kit pen, underneath the crocodile skin. The nib says "W. Germany", which might mean Germany or China. The barrel's diameter is about the same as the diameter of the Pelikan M200 Tradition's barrel.

As you can see from my avitar, I have a crocodile. As a matter of fact, I have another crocodile, but it is a different model. The second one was bought for me by a friend who bought it traveling in China. Prev post

I use them both as edc's (every day carrys). I like them.

Those who get too big for their britches will be exposed in the end.

I purchased one of the Ouguwen pens (looks like a serpent more than a croc to me). It's a good pen and I'm generally satisfied. It's mostly a novelty which is why I purchased it. Compare it to a Fort Madison made Sheaffer Imperial from the early 1990s which sells for about the same price on ebay, etc., and I'd recommend the Fort Madison made pen.

As to the serpent pen, it has a little harder nib than I like and delivers a thinner, and less wet line than I personally prefer. That's mostly a matter of personal opinion.

I like the pen but it's not one of my favorites.

When I first got this pen, it tended to skip a little. After I tinkered with the nib, it's fine (pun inteneded). I prefer a fine nib, and a lot of these chinese pens write fine (again!) although my other croc writes closer to a medium, so I put Noodler's 'firefly' in it and use it as a highlighter.

No. This is a company in China that calls all it's pens crocodiles, and they put a little croc on the cap. I think the pen my friends got for me in China also listed another company with it (like Namiki and Pilot), but I'd have to go find my box . . .

For what it's worth, my croc from China lists the manufacturer as Croco Rome Dile.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
