Leather Pen Cases

How long does it take to get a pen case from you here in the USA. I ordered a case a while ago and have heard nothing.

best,

Jim & Scrawler -

I ordered at the end of January (3 pen cases). They arrived last week.

They were postmarked the day after I paid for them.

I've heard some see them in a few weeks. Mine were over 10 weeks. Nothing to do with Ashish. Everything to do with the postal system. My guess is someone randomly decides if they go by air or by boat. Mine obviously came by ship. Well packed. Nice pen cases.

The first set I ordered took a bit over 4 weeks (2 pen cases), but got held up in Canada Customs. The second set never stopped at customs.

It will be interesting to see how long the next set takes.

Yes, I realize it is out of Anish's court once they are sent and I have come to understand that that the whims of the postal systems defy all logic. Due to my location I rarely panic is something is taking 3 weeks from the US, or 5 weeks from Europe. I was absolutely blown away once when a package from Tokyo arrived in 3 days. I cannot understand how they managed that since I am a long drive from any sorting office and the only airport around here can only manage 2 seaters and microlights. Occasionally Canada Customs will add up to five weeks to a delivery by opening then sitting on a parcel for no good reason. I am just jealous that everyone keeps extolling the virtues of theirs and I have just scratched one of my pens by putting it in my pocket in such a way that it rubbed up against the clip of another.

Thanks guys. I do understand what you are talking about. Given the situation with flying and the Volcanic ash, coming by boat may be quicker!

best,

Oh happy day. I have just returned from the post and my 3 black pen cases have finally arrived. Very nice work they are and hold two largish pens nicely. Thanks Ashish :clap1:

They are well worth the wait! I ordered mine on Feb 27th and they just arrived today, April 23rd. Ashish sent them out right away but they went into postal hell in route to rural Ohio. I got the three of the two-pen cases. Imagine the pleasure of opening the package and feeling and smelling real leather, not plastic? The 149 is slightly snug, but fits well.

Hope this lifts the spirits of everyone in the States waiting for theirs to arrive. It takes longer that you want but it is worth it!

I also ordered 3 of the 2 pen cases. One for each member of the family. My pens tend to the large size so are a nice snug fit. I suspect my daughters pens may be a little loose, being as they are Parker 51's, vacumatics and Waterman Audace types, but I am delighted, and as you say worth the wait. Mine were definitely held up by Canada customs, they are stamped as having been inspected.

Ashish is a really honest person. My first case had too narrow slots. However, Ashish must have discovered that a few of the cases had this problem. He contacted me and offered me a replacement. The second one that I now have received is just as good as most of you have written.

Thank you Ashish, it is a pleasure to deal with you.

Hi Royahawkeye,

At present I have only two and three slot cases, I have requested a four slot case from the crafts person and will update this thread when I get it, in the meanwhile, thanks for all your kind words and support friends, and sorry for the delays in some cases. One parcel has returned sans the label, which as you know I stick down with tape over the address, so I am going to trace the receipt number, contact the person by e mail and re post the case.

thanks and regards

Ashish

Super new Colors Ashish. I particularly like the brown. Do you also have single pen pouches that can take a 149?

Hari

Just received my 3-pen brown case today. It's really beautiful, and fits my MB 149 perfectly. It took about 4 weeks to get here (Brazil), and was very well packed. I'm a very satisfied customer !

  • 2 weeks later...

I ordered two two-pen cases from Ashish on May 14, and they arrived on Wednesday last, May 26. Very pleased indeed. They're big enough to get the fat cap of a Lamy nexx M inside, so any of my other pens will fit easily. Nicely made, and that lovely leather smell. Colour me happy!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
