nice review. so it shades, huh? i thought this was the blackest thing around, some say. i still think PR velvet black is one of the darkest around -w/o the water resistance, alas!

oh my....

I've taken* to diluting it 50/50. Makes for even greater shading and I haven't noticed anything unusual about the dry time, seems as fast as any other to me.

[* the decision to do so was immensly helped by dropping half a bottle of the ink on the kitchen floor - cleaned up nicely btw]]

You're probably thinking of Heart of Darkness, which is one of the blackest and most "true" of the noodler's black inks. Most folks who've used Dark Matter report as a grey-black with a slight greenish hue, myself included.

Great review! I ordered this ink as soon as it came out (ok, so I am a scientist is a government lab. how could I resist?). It has become my favorite black ink. It performs well in every pen I have used it in, is water resistant, and while not the blackest, it is certainly black enough to look very nice. It hasn't made my handwriting look as nice as yours, but it is a great ink.

I bought a bottle of Dark Matter at pen club tonight at The Pen Place. It has Nuke on top of the box, like that of Pictrix.

I wrote to a pen pal that I liked the idea of writing with Dark Matter (with a nod to that dark matter out there in the universe). Now I can!

Rats. I should not have filled a pen with this ink when tired. I put it in the sink, and which side did ink run down? One of the three not label sides? No, right down the label. Part of wanting this ink was the label.
