Very nice review.

I have resin version in the M205 and absolutely love it. I've been wanting another - but after reading your review, I'll spring for the few extra bucks and get the M215. Payday is just a couple of days away!

Enablers... all of you!!!!

Thanks for your review! I own one M like yours and I love it. As you said, it's a very solid pen, very solid finish. It's always in my rotation.

Some months ago, I purchased one more nib, a Broad one, that's amazing for sign, for taking notes, absolute smooth. Smoother than M nib.

Regards,

Fabricio

Well, this being my first fountain pen review that I post on the FPN, I decided to make it a special one. I recently ordered a Pelikan M215 in the pattern that I liked, the Lozenge one from Isellpens.com (no affiliation, just a very consistently satisfied customer), and thought that this pen would be perfect to review.

First Impressions/Appearance and Design: 9/10

Wow, the box is even impressive looking. I enjoyed the sleek look.

Ah, the pen. It has a wonderful Art-Deco feel to it. The design is timeless and classy. The only reason that I did not give it a full 10/10 is that the pen was smaller than I expected it to be.

Nib & Performance: 10/10

I truly love this nib. This nice wet medium nib was working properly the second I filled the pen up with ink. I always flush my pens before I ink them and this time was no exception. The smaller size than expected does not affect writing at all! I feel that this pen's design is perfect for the job. I also heard that this pen was uncomfortably heavy. WRONG! Maybe in comparison to the M200 it is, but this weight is just wonderful for large amounts of writing. This pen writes very smoothly with Pelikan Blue-Black ink The in hand feel was very odd before posting the cap though.

Filling System: 10/10

Go piston fillers! The piston fill is my favorite type of filling system. This pen holds a generous amount of ink and would probably last me several days of writing. Another note, this filler is the smoothest thing I have ever used to fill a pen. Hands down, my favorite filling system of all time.

Cost and Value: 10/10

This high quality, German, solid, piston filling pen, was only $90. Very good deal. I feel that this pen is worth much more than the price.

Conclusion:

This pen is definitely in my favorites. I love every single part of it. I love the way it writes, it's look, it's filling system, and it's heritage. This pen is going to be a keeper in my rotation.

Got the exact same-looking M215 as you did, although with an EF nib. It's amazing!

You nailed it ! The M215 is great.

The "Lozenge" is the elongated diamond pattern. There are three others.

I like both mine very much, with Noodler's Eel Blue ink. .

Auf freiem Grund mit freiem Volke stehn.
Zum Augenblicke dürft ich sagen:
Verweile doch, du bist so schön !

The M215 feels hefty for such a small pen in my hands.

This is a very belated response to your original review, but nonetheless, thank you for a very nice review. I thought the M600 size was my preferred size and, although I really do like my red stripe M600 and I adore my M640 Mount Everest, I couldn't believe how perfectly this size fit in my fingers, specifically the section. I have two M205s and just ordered the M215 (rings version), though I much prefer the deco look of your Lozenge better. Since I like the heavier M640 Mount Everest, I'm hoping that the extra weight of the M215 will be my perfect version of the M2xxx line. Your's was the first review I found when I started researching the product.

Thanks again!

I have the ringed version and is my "expensive" pen. It looks great for formal business meetings and it gives back some glamour to taking notes by hand as opposed to writing on a tablet. Hand writing is one of the most personal activities, similar to speaking, that one can think about.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
