Time Traveler Notebook Cover Leather

Hello Out There

I enjoy taking a pen and notebook with me where-ever I go, but protecting some of my preferred pens is always an issue. A couple of years ago I purchased a "leather" notebook cover that also had a secure and protective pen loop, trustworthy enough, even for some of my old Montblancs and Pelikans. The notebook was available at Chapters Book Store in Nanaimo, British Columbia, and I eventually bought four of them and gave three away. The only labeling on the book is "Time Traveler" stamped into the back of the book. Anybody know of a source for these?? I would buy another couple in a heartbeat. Failing that, I am having a couple made for me in leather. I will post photos when I can figure out how.

Thanks for your time.

Greg

Is there anything stamped onto the front cover, such as "Journal", or is "Time Traveler" the only markings anywhere you've found?

I know you said it's all there is, just making sure since I did find one called a Time Traveler Journal and another that's sold by a Japanese company but made in Thailand.

Sounds like a nice leather notebook, hearing as you'd buy several if only they can be found, so I'm looking to help you look.

“I view my fountain pens & inks as an artist might view their brushes and paints.

They flow across paper as a brush to canvas, transforming my thoughts into words and my words into art.

There is nothing else like it; the art of writing and the painting of words!”

Thank You Inka Scott

"Time Traveler" is the only imprint, or lettering of any kind on the notebook cover, but you did remind me that it came with an original insert, which I will look for. That may give some more clues.

I have tried searching on-line for this notebook cover and the closest items were located under "jotters", or "leather jotters", but there were none that gave protection to a valued pen. I have seen the "Time Travelers' Journal" and other similar items. It is a nightmare to Google "Time Traveler" because of something called "The Time Traveler's Wife", a movie, or book or something.

I also returned with my notebook in hand, to the Chapters store where I purchased it, but to no results. Chapters is now selling Moleskin, a la mode and Philip Belvedere stuff, good products but not what I am looking for.

This forum is probably the best place to find a source if it still exists.

I appreciate the help.

Cheers

Greg

Hehehe, same here, kept finding "Time Travelers' Wife" the book!

The thing I'd found in Japan is the MIDORI Traveler's Notebook as seen here.

I did, however, find something really interesting at Barnes & Noble for less that $20, when Searching for leather travel notebooks.

No idea where it's made, or if you have a B&N near where you live, but it caught my attention and I'm thinking about getting one of these Brown Leather Wrap Traveler's Journals with refillable paper.

If you happen upon the insert for yours, I'd really like to hear more about it.

As for posting pictures, if you open or use a Photobucket account or something similar, upload images there, you can Link them here easily enough, would love to see a picture of your Time Traveler.

Hi Scott

Amazingly, I found the original notepad insert, right where I thought it was. However, it is a common insert made by "Basics Office Products Ltd" and seems unrelated to the notebook cover, but I could be wrong. The "Basics" company logo has a red paper-clip inserted in place of the "i". Their handy notepads come in white and yellow paper, in a variety of sizes, the white being by far preferable for use with a fountain pen.

As my search was progressing I found a number of excellent sketchbooks and journals I have stowed away, and it may be better for me to design a leather cover to accomodate one of them and, perhaps, three pens for taking on the road, hiking or camping. I'll put it on the list.

Still, someone out there must have purchased one of these "Time Traveler" covers and may know of a supplier or similar product. I will go and take a picture and post it.

Regards

Greg

Thank You stevlight

I will look at Steve's site with interest.

We have some very talented makers of hand-made books locally, and most of their work is parchment and leather. It will be on the to-do list for a while, I think.

Thanks for the referrel,

Cheers,

Greg
