Pilot Custom Size Comparison?

So the 98 is smaller than the 74 which is smaller than the 742 which is smaller than the 743 and the 823 is the biggest right? (and those are the only sizes?)

Is there a picture comparison?

Also, does the different sized nibs write any different? Wondering if I'll get the same nib feel in an 823 as I do in a 98

The body of the 742 and 743 are the same - just the nib and cap is larger on the 743. I would say that the 743 is the same size as the 823 but then I never put them next to each other to confirm this. They both have No15 nibs so I would expect the cap size to be the same. The one you have missed is the 845 which is the most expensive.

Forgot about the 845, but never really got into the Lacquered ebonite pens

Is there anything smaller than a 98 or between the 98 and 74?

Also, what's the reason to go for the 743 over the 742?

Bigger nib is the only reason I can think of. But imo, the difference isn't that big.

The Con-70 has large capacity for a converter.

Yes the Custom FK-700-R. A more detailed analysis of the pen can be found in the review section.

The following link provides more details on the size comparison of the Custom Pilot range. Also this link to a blog has a picture of the Custom line-up.

Sorry for digging up a 15 yo. thread, but if you still want to find one, there *is* a smaller Custom!

It's uncommon at best and is essentially a demi sized "Lady" Custom 67.  Trim style and overall shape are identical to the full sized 67 (already the most svelte of the usual suspects), but it's both shorter and slimmer than the 67, as a consequence it doesn't accept the CON-70. The nib is a 3 size, rather than 5, though the look and feel of the nib is similar to the larger version.

Here is the thread about identification of the model:

Guess, some people will look into this thread, now that it is living again.

There is a comparison over there:

Thank you! I was looking for this image again and couldn't remember which thread(s?) it was posted in.

Now if I only had a "spare" $700 kicking around for an 845...
