Diamine Dark Green

My Bottle of Diamine dark green arrived yesterday. I am a little disappointed. While it is a beautiful color, it is a dead ringer for PR Blue Suede & I really didn't need 2 different inks that are the same color. I only used it with a dip pen. I don't know if there will be a color change if I load it into a pen, or not. Did anyone else find that these 2 inks appear to be identical?

This is an old thread, but the only one listed in the review index for this ink. I just got a bottle of it and I must say I'm disappointed. It seems the colour varies a lot from bottle to bottle, or then Diamine changed the formula. My Dark Green looks almost exactly like Waterman Green, only a little more saturated. I didn't need two bottles of the same colour... sigh. I should stop buying ink that I haven't seen for real!

Edit: To me the scan on the first page looks almost identical to the Diamine Teal review here.

I also find that it looks a bit too teal-ish in the picture above.

I own one bottle and I really like the colour. The Dark Green reminds me of Diamine's Steel Blue but with less blue and more green tones. :)

I bought a bottle some months ago, and was disappointed too because it looks nothing like the scans in this review. It reminds me a lot of Visconti green. Both are what I would describe as turquoise green, with Visconti and Diamine favoring one or the other tones. That is, one is more greenish, while the other more turquoisish -- I can't remember which goes with which.

For dark(er) greens, I moved on to Herbin Vert Empire and Stipula Moss Green.

Thanks for the pics.

To me it looks just like Parker Quink Blue-Black ... once dried.

I think either my monitor is way off or I'm the only colorblind female.

This looks very blue to me, slate blue with maybe a hint of azure. not green..( I do love the color though !). The green  smiley shows up a bright green though.. I'm confused !

Our monitors drink at the same bar....I thought it an interesting blue. :headsmack:

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

There is still chemistry for processing regular chrome (positive) films like Kodak Ektachrome and Fuji Velvia, but Kodachrome was a completely different and multistep beast.

Ah, but how to get it processed - that is the question. I believe that the last machine able to run K-14 (Kodachrome processing) ceased to operate some 15 or so years ago. Perhaps the film will be worth something as a curiosity in my estate sale when I die. 😺

Take a lot of photos!   If the film has deteriorated or 'gone off' in any way, you can use that as a 'feature' to take 'arty' pictures - whether of landmarks, or people, or whatever.
