Favourite Pen Case Or Wrap

I've always liked pen cases, almost as much as I like fountain pens. I can hardly bear to carry my fountain pens in cases without individual slots, except for the very cheap pens. I bought a simulated leather pen case with elastic bands to hold the pens, but quickly outgrew of it as I want to carry more than two fountain pens to work. So I made a pen case for 5 pens, but the pens are a little too close together. I'm now making a denim pen wrap so that each of the 6 pens has its own full-length compartment and can be clipped onto the fabric if I wish. I like that the top flap prevents the clips from rubbing against one another. But the pen wrap is large when opened and bulky when closed. So I'm still searching and planning my next pen case or wrap.

So what's your favourite pen case? How many pens can it hold, what material is it made of and are there any features you like or dislike?

For my plastic and acrylic pens which stay at home but are used to take notes, I have a Wilde Wrap held upright by a foam cup holder inside a Tom Bihn Stuff Sack.

The wrap was bought from Elisabeth Wilde at a pen show some years ago.

There is a lady in Maryland, U.S.A who makes pen wraps as well.

My Lamy Vistas and my inkrollers are held inside a Tom Bihn Pen Pouch and a Medium Pouch in Dyneema, both Pouches fit inside a re-purposed Crayola nylon pen case which held markers.

That way, the pens have two layers of protection.

Not politically correct...

but my 2-pen case I bought in the Paris Flea market...

It's made from elephant hide leather.

I've been extremely pleased with the wrap I purchased from PacificCoastPen some months back. It's held the pens securely, fits six pens, and is quite the handsome wrap, eliciting positive comments from people whenever I unwrap the pens in my work. She's recently listed two new wraps here on FPN : Two new pen wraps

Here's the one I purchased a few months back :

The wraps are fairly priced, and very well constructed. If I needed to carry more pens, I'd get the "acorn" design that she's selling now, actually. Happily and firmly recommended as a fine source for pen wraps.

As usual for this sort of thing, not affiliated, not related, and in point of fact, I have never met the lady... but I do like the work she's done on the wrap I have.

From a quality and price standpoint you can't beat the pen wraps and pouches offered by Nan and Ling (rainyday2306). They offer a great many interesting fabric designs and you don't have to worry about whether or not the material will tarnish your pens (ala leather).

Mine is a great wrap that always elicits compliments and it keeps my traveling rack of pens safe and secure.

You may be referring to these http://www.penhouseusa.com/

24 types of fabric and 4, 8 12 pen options

I have a 8 pen and it is beautiful and the material is pretty thick and offers a lot of padding. No relation just satisfied user. I haven't been to her website in a while and she has added a lot of things such as Maki-E pen chests and pen jewelry.

A BIG +1 or more for PacificCoastPen's pen-wrap!!!!

Just received mine and it's great, holds 8 of my big pens comfortably and protects them, rolls up into a nice roll that's easy to carry in my bag during the day.

Had a great experience working with her on design, materials and colors, was very accommodating and wanted to make sure that I got the wrap, just the way I wanted it. Little did she know that she was dealing with an architect with many years of design background....so, very particular about design, materials, colors, details, etc...

Not only did I get the design I wanted, but the turnaround time was very quick too...I got a very handsome black denim outside and a nice blue microfiber suede inside, great combo...

Can't ask for more than that..... :)

Thumbs up! and a A++++

PM PacificCoastPen if you need a wrap....

Your reference to a Tom Bihn "pen pouch" made me curious. Searching on their site didn't turn one up. Can you possibly provide a link to this item?

I'm not Anne-Sophie, but I love all my Tom Bihn stuff, including the pen/pencil pouch I use for my Pulse Pen. The pouch can be seen by going to www.tombihn.com, clicking on Accessories, then clicking on Clear Organizer Pouches. You can see the Pen/Pencil pouch by putting your mouse pointer on "b". To order, just pick from the drop down menu on the left. (I think you need to call if you want a color choice.)

No affiliation, just a long-time (and happy) Tom Bihn customer.

I have a very adequate 6-pen wrap made by the wife of Norm at HisNibs.com. I've used it for about six months and I'm very satisfied. I bought the less expensive polyester felt model, but there are others I'm considering for the future. Highly recommended wraps.

Now that my fp collection has grown a bit, I just ordered another basic 6-pen poly pen wrap ($5) from HisNibs.com. No affiliation; just a satisfied customer.
