One of the fountain pens that I picked up an estate sale this weekend is labeled "Imperial Pen and Pencial Co., Nassua, NY". The papers state that 35 cents is needed for postage and handling if returning for a repair. Since the address is simply the company name and city, state, I'm assuming that it is pre-1960s. Any one have any information?

Not a whole lot, but from the New York Times:

 

Albany, Dec 3 [AP} - the 100 employes of the Imperial Pen and Pencil Company at near-by Nassau volunteered today to help rebuild the plant, which was swept by a $100,000 fire yesterday. Mrs Marion Percy, president of Local 938, Textile Workers Union, CIO, said the empolyes agreed to work without pay to help get the plant back in operation.

 

It must have worked, because they featured a small text-only ad on Jan 2, 1951

I found the same add on January 3, 1955 (in "Business Directory")

 

In May of 1951 they were listed as a petitioner in the bankcruptcy of the novelty importer and exporter Rudolph Kellerman, Inc.

 

That is all I could find.
