Wtb: Breguet Fountain Pen

Recommended Posts

I am searching for the fountain pen pictured below- which is a fountain pen made by breguet in small numbers. Pic courtesy of Jack Forster on purist.com.

Also, if you happen to have any one of the series of breguet writing instruments, I am interested in those as well.

Please email me as I do not check pm that often. Thanks.

Tom

I also think the Breguet pen is quite unique and very attractive. I believe it was made for Breguet by Montegrappa and is currently only available in one of the boutiques. There is one in New York and one on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills in Los Angeles. I actually called and spoke to some fancy accented gentleman at the LA boutique about a year ago about getting one of the pens, but held off for whatever reason I really can't remember now.

Here is a link to the Breguet web site that lists their boutique locations.

Thanks for the info. Your story is very interesting because neither montegrappa nor Breguet mentioned at the time of reveal that the fountain pen was a collaborative work. I do know that breguet fountain pens are available at the boutique but with the MSRP over $2000, I don't find it very attractive to buy it new regardless of it being my "grail." I know there are people with this pen who like to sell it but don't list it on ebay, etc because nobody buys it. I've seen one on bay at a very competitive price but nobody cared to bid and the seller just withdrew (I bitterly waited as I didn't have enough money and courage then).

So I am....well, still waiting for THE moment to come.

Additionally, I am not sure what that is under the pen. However, the owner being a member of the purists.com, it is very likely to be a papyrus or an exotic paper of similar origin.

I also am looking for the Breguet writing instrument but ballpoint only. Been looking at many avenues but no luck throughout the years. I am surprised there has not been any recent listing on any of the Breguet writing pieces.

I am going to travel to LA sometime soon and I may pay a visit to the Breguet boutique on Rodea Drive. Let's see if I have the mind power to stop pulling out my wallet.

If anyone who has a Breguet Ballpoint for sale, pls email me.

Thx!

Calvin

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
