I am are pleased to inform you that Phidon Pens in Cambridge Ontario, will be Celebrating their First Anniversary on September 18th & 19th 2009. They have planned an open house between 10am to 8 pm on the 18th and from 10am to 6pm on the 19th. They have invited numerous Pen Manufacturers/Representatives to present new models and some Limited Edition Pens.

In addition to "Pen-Centric" activities, they will have draws, raffle door prizes and some food as well. Baldeep and Mano, the owners, are offering special discounts as a token of thanks to all their customers for making it a successfull year for Phidon Pens. Please join in the celebrations. Mayor Doug Craig of Cambridge has kindly agreed to grace this occasion on Saturday September 19th at 12.30pm.

The store is located at 63 Dickson Street Cambridge, Ontario and the phone number is 519 624 8787. I have attached a google map for directions if anyone requires them. Google Map to Phidon

I will be there as well most of the day both days, and will be grinding nibs on Saturday for 2 hours, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. I can also do small repairs at that time if required.

Here is the stores website Phidon Pens Ltd.

In the interest of full disclosure, I do repair work for Phidon. Baldeep and Mano are very much committed to the pen business and are some of the most wonderful people you are likely to meet. Please help one of the only brick and mortar stores in SW Ontario have a great anniversary.

Cheers,

Sean

Just to update the Phidon Anniversary. I got to Cambridge about 2pm on Saturday and spent an hour hanging out and chatting with people. Memorable moments would include, talking someone into buying a new Sailor with the music nib, watching Sean stub a nib and chatting with the Visconti etc rep who had a table full of fine, fine pens. Ok I did fall in love with the Delta Pompeii but it is so out of my snack bracket that I was relieved not to be tempted.

The new Viscontis were there. All except the Templari which he said would be arriving sometime this week.

The Lady Divinas were tres blingy. Not much to my taste. The Rembrants were ok. Very much like a stepped down version of the Van Gogh. The plastic on the body and cap reminded me a bit of the Pericles but a bit plainer.

It was a nice interlude on my drive to Stratford and it was great to be able to celebrate with the good folks at Phidon.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
