OMAS Cinema LE FP - Price Reduction

Tanglewood

Recommended Posts

[Addendum: Prices reduced from 440 to 415, and 420 to 395 (with or without original packaging). Feel free to make an offer - I'll mull it over. I won't sell at any price, but I will consider your offer. J. Mottishaw sold a new old stock Cinema FP for 895 not that long ago... I landed this one for 550.00 from an FPN-er. There was another for sale on FPN about the same time for 500, though it was not NOS. So, me thinks this is a good deal - but we shall see what the market beareth.]

I have a rule: I have to move something out of my collection before I can add something new. Keeps me at a very nice status-satisfied, non-brokeo, wetted-appettitto kind of way. So, I have the "I want something new"s ... Ergo...

I am offering an OMAS Cinema LE in excellent condition. I bought it new old stock 3 months ago. "Why move it out?", you ask. Because it's a fine point nib (18K). I like mediums. Like all OMAS's old style paragons, this is a wet writer. A lovely writer, actually. I have nothing much against it, except I am after something new. In fact, I may regret this in the morning.:) I have gently used it, which means I've put 3, or 4 fillings of ink through it. Always stored in a leather pouch when not in use. I do have the original container. It is a tin, shaped like the container of a film roll. If you ask me, it is not the most lovely part of the edition; kind of... well ... tinnish. But if you are a purist, you'll probably want it. With the tin it'll cost more to ship, so: 415, without 395, shipping & insurance included to anywhere in the USA. Other locales open to discussion.

Finally, the photos are pretty rotten. Sorry. Took them with a flash minutes ago. Ugh. The blemishes on the nib are all ink. Didn't clean it up before shooting. The "white" streaks on the barrel are all reflections. The celluloid has a pearlescent quality. Truly beautiful. The little icons on the gold ringy thing are cinema-related, a camera, film roll, etc. The pen shows and writes as new. Sparkling perfect. If you are reeeeeally interested, and you want other photos, pm me.

I prefer paypal.

Thanks! The pen is on hold pending pymt.

Bump for a great looking pen. I have the non-LE Omas Paragon in the grey celluloid and think it has a very elegant appearance.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
