I see that Iroshizuku inks have become very popular in recent times inspite of their being so expensive. I have the kon peki.

Im desperate to get my hands on a sample of the Yama Guri. To buy it here in the UK means a fortune in international shipping. Would anyone be prepared to send me a thimbleful, please?

Thanks

I want to kick these postal people they would not accept liquids otherwise I would have shipped gladly.

perhaps they are not to blame either. The world is not as safe as it used to be.

Thank you, Laura. I assumed it was a paint brush of some kind/was not sure of the paper.

Thanks for posting these! I noticed JetPens just added them recently, and I was trying to decide which brown to go with. I was leaning toward Yama-Guri, but I think I really want Tsukushi.

Ordered from Jetpens and just in time too. As I finished my order and went back to the main inks page,

some of the browns were marked sold out.

Ah, that fresh ink on paper look!

The Tsukushi is just beautiful..........imagine the shiniest auburn hair.........I use it in my Pelikan M1000 with a BB stub nib and it is delicious.........brown with definite reddish undertones, and great shading! The other brown is really brown - if you want dark brown with no undertones.

Chris - That's exactly what I want! Something similar to Noodler's Walnut that is not semi-permanent, with no red in it. But shipping to the UK is actually more than the cost of a bottle of the stuff. Its crazy!

They have really captured the Japanese fall colours perfectly! Makes me long for a nice soft kaki (persimmon) again... even though I don't like them that much. I will definitely have to get my hands on those browns. Gorgeous!

Oh, how I wish to get my hands on those browns!

Guess I need to start seasonal ink budgeting now.

Neill78: well, you could always go for kaki (oyster) instead. It took me an age to remember the proper intonation for each, and many amusing confusions in the meantime.

What colour would that be? A fishy grey-cream with strong lubrication? Have to remember to leave the cap on tight and store it in the fridge?

I always tell my students not to concern themselves with intonation until they actually go to Japan -- they could master the Tokyo dialect and then end up in Kansai where everything is the exact opposite!

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
