Stuart Hall Fine Linen Writing Paper

Greetings! Does anyone know if Stuart Hall Fine Linen Writing Paper is still available anywhere in the United States? I used to be able to buy pads of Stuart Hall Fine Linen Writing Paper as well as matching envelopes at CVS and Stop & Shop, for example, and now I cannot find it for sale anywhere.

I did a Google search for Stuart Hall Co. Inc. and found that Stuart Hall Co. Inc. was purchased by Pen-Tab Industries Inc. in 1998. I was able to purchase the paper for a while after that but I can no longer find Stuart Hall Fine Linen Writing Paper or anything comparable. I purchased some fine linen paper sold in Staples but this paper is far heavier since it is not writing paper and it is just not a nice. I preferred the light weight of the Stuart Hall Fine Linen Writing Paper -- it was perfect for long letters while not being too light for writing on both sides of the page using either a fountain pen or a rollerball. The paper did not bleed and the ink did not smear on the page -- the paper had what I would call just the "write" ink absorbency.

The paper's being in a pad was great for travel and the paper was great for writing personal letters -- the pages were 6.25 inches by 8.75 inches rather than 8.5 inches by 11 inches.

If anyone has any suggestions regarding stores/companies that I might contact or a possible substitute fine linen writing paper, your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

This Spring, looking for a particular notebook, I followed the chain of corporate acquisitions (via Google) that you seem to have, and unfortunately it seems that that old, familiar brand is long gone. No more Stuart Hall?! Weird. I think their old Kansas City building was "gentrified" into apartments.

Elysee, I miss Stuart Hall papers, too. I check garage sales, church bazaars, etc.

May you have pens you enjoy, with plenty of paper and ink. :)

I used to see Stuart Hall pads in the dime store. I hadn't even noticed they were gone.

Geez.

RIP

I have several of the Stuart Hall Executive personal notebooks (in storage), and yes, I do believe they have the extra ("false") front covers that I noticed later on Ampad Gold Fibre personal notebooks.

I know exactly what you are missing. It has been my all time favorite over the years. Since, I have been using Southworth Ivory Resume paper available at Walmart and other like stores. I just use my cutting-board and chop it in half width. It's cheaper than expensive stationary or other paper and has a good feel. It's not SH fine linen quality but it's close enough. If anyone has a better paper to replace the famous s.h. linen please let me know.

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
