Beautiful pen!

I really wish I could find some Ebonite like the vintage Waterman Blue/Green Ripple and have Brian make a pen out of it for me.

Congratulations

Take a look here at Earth. Also another one whose name I can't think of now, but you'll find it. Good Luck. Brian will also search for you if you ask him.

Thanks, but that's not the material I'm looking for.

Brian is aware of the material for which I'm looking.

Krandall,

it was a pleasure to read your review. It's an interesting instrument and I am fascinate from clipless simple pens (that's a pity that there are not so many options for a clipless pen out there...).

Yours is beautiful.

Ciao,

Beautiful review Krandall, merci beaucoup ... :)

you captured so well the very special joy there is when a very special fountain pen arrives ...

Why is it that Europeans speak English so beautifully and the average American, like me, can barely manage second year French? It is embarrassing. Thanks for your remark on my review. I thought I was going to get a lot of flack for not following the standard formula, but it has been the opposite. People seem to respond positively to the more "right brain", poetic approach, mediocre as it was.

In 2002 I attended an 8 week advanced course in London, England for the ministry in which I was employed. There were only 4 Americans in attendance, several Europeans, a number of people from Africa and India, and a smattering of people from other parts of the globe, 26 in all.

The curious thing to me at the time was that most of the delegates except Americans spoke more than one language. In fact, it came to be a bit of a joke for our closely-knit group.

From that experience two things happened to me. First, I decided that I could learn a second language and began to study Spanish. My wife joined me and we enrolled in a two-year Spanish language course and we continue speaking and learning today.

The second thing was that I realized that people in many parts of the world are almost forced or at least conditioned to the need to learn languages beside their native tongue because they live in proximity to other countries much as we live in proximity of one state to the next in the United States. It isn't such a surprise to understand once you realize that people in Europe, for example, cross over country borders as frequently as we drive to another state for work or vacation.

I agree that Americans could be more proactive about learning second and third languages and understanding other cultures. Since my educational experience in London in 2002 I have been fortunate to travel to South America 4 times visiting several countries there while experiencing various cultures, climates, and native peoples who I have come to appreciate and love so much.

where can one buy such a pretty pen? I cannot find them on the edison website.

I believe Glenn-SC ordered a custom edison glenmount.. You can email brian here: brian@edisonpen.com

And refer to this webpage to see all the possible materials that can be fashioned into a pen.

This is a truely wonderful and informative review. One of the best I have the good luck to see.

On a side note, I liked your book 'Bardo' a lot and I will pick up 'The Assassination of George W. Bush: A Love Story' very soon.

Pens are like watches , once you start a collection, you can hardly go back. And pens like all fine luxury items do improve with time

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
