Eisenhower - PArker 51

I had read that Eisenhower refused to be in the room with the Germans but that he signed the document later. Perhaps that was wrong. The article does not mention him signing it at all.

Great shots............ the pen is perfect...a 51 no doubt........ the glass of whiskey??????????? or in US scotch????? No ice cubes...so am I to assume a single malt????? No...I'm guessing it should be Johnny Walker (cubes melted). What about the lighter??? a Zippo of some sort???

Great shots...thanks for posting

Wow. I just watched the movie last week and I noticed that the pen was correct for that period - an early 51 with a gold or gold filled cap. I was even going to post on it so thanks for sharing the info and the great screenshots. If I am ever up Gettysburg again I will have to check out his farm as I never did visit it on any previous visits.

I have also found a statement written by Ike in case of the D-day failure. I assume it was also written with P51.

Surprising (a little) about the lighter... I'm pretty sure I.E. was a pipe smoker and, therefore, would have likely used matches. Not that pipe style lighters weren't available (Zippo even made one), but matches are long preferred.

Agree that the pen caps would be either GF or solid gold.

Ike was a well documented cigarette smoker. The lighter is too thin to be a Zippo. Perhaps a Dunhill?

Actually, it looks like it was written in pencil. Is there a better image around?
