Stypen made them in the 90's. As you know, the company has been bought by BIC, and shut down the production ( at least by now). A shame, their products were really excellent student pens.

So long have I wondered what was that orange pen I bought back in the '90s... I have a non LE edition of this pen, orange that I use with Herbin orange indien, almost the exact same color. It is still in rotation.

If I remember correctly, it was sold to me as a Waterman  . It has been my favorite writer for many years and was my third "serious" pen (I don't count the Pelikanos I was obliged to use at school), after a Waterman Lauréat (I lost it, */&%!) and a Waterman Maestro (?).

The clip is rather fragile, and my pen is currently clipless.

It a good weight pen, and is very short when unposted (and mine does't post any more if it has ever).

Thank youso much for your review, I am very happy to finally know what I bought in these days!! :bunny01:

I always thought that they were made by Waterman. You see them

listed on the bay as Waterman all the time. Now I wonder just who does

make them ???.

The first models, as the one reviewed, were made by Stypen. The Harley Davidson FREEWHEEL series (Flames, Racing...etc) is an LE made by Waterman. The metal boxes sport a clear "powered by Waterman". And the pens are a version of the very well known Phileas/Kultur, with the same nib -monotone in this case- .

The Orange box is the HD Stypen marketed in the 90's. The metal one, the Waterman Kultur/Phileas dressed as a biker.

MYU, you have the latest series of Waterman made Harley LE fpens. They come in fantastic metal display cases. And the pens are amazing value for the money. I tried one and love the weight and feeling. Great to toss in the backpack or the jean's back pocket.
