Legal Lapis pigment sediment?

My bottle of LL is probably about 6 or 7 years old

Hmm, I don't think LL was around before 2004. (Black made its debut in late 2003, as I recall. I remember these things because they happened around the time when I stopped having just one FP and one or two inks.) In fact.... here's Sam's announcement to the Zoss list:

Subject: Shah's Rose & Legal Lapis color swatches

From: PENDEMONIUM <sam@pendemonium.com>

Inky Greetings!

As always, your monitor may vary, but here are color swatches of

Noodler's newest color, just in today: Shah's Rose and Legal Lapis, a

permanent on paper blue and exclusive to Pendemonium.

Time flies when you're having fun.

Fair enough - I was guesstimating based on having a bottle of LL for what felt like a good long while before I ever found FPN. So, with LL's introduction and my membership here fixed in time, I'd say if my LL isn't 2004 stock, then it's from early 2005, so comments above still apply, with the age of the ink being corrected to 4 to 5 years old. Thanks for the reality check!

Man, you're not kidding. Four moves (one of them international), a marriage, two kids, a return to school, a career change... Are you sure 2004 wasn't fifteen years ago?

Ryan.

Excuses, excuses....

No, seriously, with all of that going on, I'm impressed that you can even remember what Legal Lapis is!

BTW, I still have my (almost empty) bottle from the inaugural run of LL. It's not the first ink I go to, but I'll probably end up getting more when this runs out. It's an interesting ink in its own right (the color is so changeable!), but also good for making "lapindigo" and "navindigo" (mixes with N's Iraqi Indigo/Violet Vote and Navy, respectively).

FWIW, I've never had any problem with residue at the bottom of the bottle.
