I have never tried waterman ink either. Which is worth trying? I don't need SSB because I have Skrip Peacock Blue.

My favorites, which are always loaded in pens, are Florida Blue and Blue Black. Some complain of a green tint as the BB dries, but in over eleven years of use I have never experienced this.

 

I also use a 1:1 mix of Florida Blue and Purple, which is a nice complement to the barrel color of my old style blue marbled Phileas, and is always in that pen.

Simple answer: All.

 

Long answer: Not the Black (too grey), nor Havanna Brown which I find too red (but lots of other people have it as a benchmark brown).

 

 

 

I second that.

 

Waterman ink colors are considered businesslike.

 

They go really well with handwritten semi formal notes (thank you notes to superiors and in laws).

 

The colors are very wedding color friendly...

 

 

South Sea Blue is a dream blue lagoon color. Guaranteed to brighten the mood for a fraction of the price of Caran D' Ache.

 

 

Waterman bottles are nice looking on a desk and really useful, they can tip on the side to get the last of the ink.

 

If you see a sale on Waterman ink, buy every color, if you can.

 

They make great mixing ink.

 

I never use red but I bought a bottle of red and black to make my custom burgundy.

Two drops of black to one converter full of red. Makes a nice true burgundy.

 

Waterman Black is kind of washed out but that whats makes it perfect for slightly darkening a favorite ink.

 

 

It is cheap enough to be European students staple ink brand.

 

 

 

 

Is it fair for an intelligent and family oriented mammal to be separated from his/her family and spend his/her life starved in a concrete jail?

WoW! I really DO need to buy some Waterman inks - not just one- today. Now I need to find a place that does not overkill on postage !

I'll just mention Florida Blue, which is a fabulous 'standard' blue and Purple as being Waterman colours I love.

I'd say it's my favorite blue ink. It's darker than Peacock Blue, but is still a nice turquoise color. The vintage variety shades quite nicely as well.

 

Other South Seas Blue lover here.....John, I have some vintage Peacock Blue and compared to my SSB ....they are identical. Maybe the Peacock has evaporated a bit and the resulting concentration of die is what makes them look the same?

 

Is a truly outstanding, flawlessly behaved ink, and as mentioned, a fascinating color.

I bought a bottle a couple of weeks ago by mistake. I was pointing at the Florida Blue and the shop assistant put the wrong one in the bag. Not sure if it was just as a result of it not being the ink I wanted but I didn't like the colour. It was a too light and looked very green on the page. I gave it to my daughter and she loves it...

      Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

      It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

      Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

      @asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
