Even though I live in what scientists term as a succulent desert out here in West Texas, I absolutely have to make it to a pen show at least one time in my life.

Gallons of ink!?! Vintage ink wells below market value?!? I haven't the money to fly to Boston, but I have a backpack and solo tent. Wonder how long it would take me to walk there?

How painful it is to be away from my home in Boston at such a crucial time : (((

But maybe the Husband will be kind enough to run out for a gallon of ink.

He'll be too busy at the Bruins game 7. Alas, another reason I need to be in Boston, my favorite sports team of all time might make it to the Cup! Does Nathan ever go to any other pen shows in say, Texas?

:yikes:

Zowie.

I think I might make it, though! I can't buy a gallon of HoD, but I can certainly ogle it.

Update:

It was really, really fun to ogle the gallons of ink.

Yeah, but did you fondle it? And if so, do they have your prints on file (in HoD, of course).

Yours,
Randal

From a person's actions, we may infer attitudes, beliefs, --- and values. We do not know these characteristics outright. The human dichotomies of trust and distrust, honor and duplicity, love and hate --- all depend on internal states we cannot directly experience. Isn't this what adds zest to our life?

I would NEVER be so forward as to fondle ink that wasn't my own!

:eureka: Those folks asking about the whereabouts of the Dark Matter in the Universe should take a closer look at Nathans jugs. He seems to have successfully distilled some of that elusive stuff into gallons of HoD. Edited by saintsimon

Actually, he has a new ink called Dark Matter!

I just posted photos of Noodler's Boston Brahmin Black, the 2009 New England Pen Show limited edition ink, on my blog.

It's only the bottle right now, but I have photos of writing samples that will be coming along in a day or so.

Nathan, what might it take to entice you to the L.A. Pen Show? There are a lot of hard core ink junkies out West, and we'd love a crack at the larger ink bottles. Wow - fabulous.

What I'd give for 32 oz or more for HoD...

I can't hit any pen shows, though.

The show was excellent and the pen show special ink is beautiful. No gallon jugs for us, but the show and Nathan's table were well worth the time!

I'm Andy H and I approved this message.

Well, those look like great bottles of ink to have! I wish I could have gone :headsmack: .

And, now that it's over, can anyone tell us what the prices were on those variously sized bottles of ink?

Oh, there are so many Noodler's inks I'd like in one quart glass bottles!

On a sacred quest for the perfect blue ink mixture!

When will it end? How many colors can Noodler's manufacture? I guess we'll see...

So many inks to choose from...it's filling up my ink book with too many choices!

Thanks for the info (I only used B&W film and learned to process that).   Boy -- the stuff I learn here!  Just continually astounded at the depth and breadth of knowledge in this community! Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

It just wasn't likely to have been Kodachrome.  It would have been the films I referred to as "other color films." (Kodachrome is not a generic term for color film. It is a specific film that produces transparencies, or slides, by a process not used for any other film. There are other color trans

@Ceilidh -- Well, I knew people who were photography majors in college, and I'm pretty sure that at least some of them were doing photos in color, not just B&W like I learned to process.  Whether they were doing the processing of the film themselves in one of the darkrooms, or sending their stuff out to be processed commercially?  That I don't actually know, but had always assumed that they were processing their own film. Kodachrome 25 was the most accurate film for clinical photography and was used by dermatologists everywhere. I got magnificent results with a Nikon F2 and a MicroNikkor 60 mm lens, using a manually calibrated small flash on a bracket. I wish there were a filter called "Kodachrome 25 color balance" on my iPhone camera.
