LEGACY II REPLACEMENT TOUCHDOWN UNITS

I am curious if the board is aware of sources for replacement touchdown filler units in the Legacy II. While I love the touchdown filler system infinitely more than a regular converter, I am worried that in a few years, there wil no longer be any way to replace the touchdown filler units when they eventually break. Do people usually replace these units or do they try and repair them? Does Sheaffer itself sell replacement touchdown filler units? If so, would it be wise to get a few extra now just to ensure years of reliable touchdown filling? Finally, I am curious. If the Legacy II accepts the same Sheaffer cartridges as the Sheaffer Legacy Heritage, will the Sheaffer Legacy Heritage converter fit into Sheaffer Legacy II? I don't really love the converters, but worst come to worst, if the touchdown filler units become unavailable, I'd much rather have a standard Sheaffer converter than be reduced to cartridges forever. Thank you all for your consideration. Regards.

Our own PenHero sells them here.

If you're concerned, buy a few and stock up now. Usual disclaimer.

Yep, take Southpaw's advice if you want a fallback. The more complicated a filling system the more prone it will be to some failure..eventually.

Thanks for the input. I checked out the pricing and the touchdown converter units are not at all as expensive as I thought they might be for a discontinued pen. I think I will take the advice and stock up on a few extras. Regards.

Some one told me that for the Legacy I and II touchdown filler, it is more efficient to use the Sheaffer aerometric filler than the touchdown sac unit. The price is about half too. I have not tried that yet, but I may give it a try when I put my Legacy I back into rotation.

I also have the concern that the touchdown sac unit may not be available later. So I am buying a couple extra just in case.

Cheers

Raymond.
