Meaning of Pelikan prefix letters

Apologies if this is "old hat". My understanding of the letters in Pelikan writing instruments' designations is

R = Roller

K = Kugelschreiber (ball point)

D = Drehmechanik (pencils with twist feed)

P = Patrone (cartridge)

M = _______________???

Can someone please tell me what word the "M" actually signifies?

Thank you.

Still somewhat mysterious, since neither "Mechanik" (mechanism) nor "Mechanisch" (mechanical) seem to be precise enough to warrant inclusion in the model name. And I don't fully subscribe to the idea of "Modern". It is vague, at best, and does not carry the same descriptive weight as do the other designations.

M = Meisterstuck!

j/k, I'd buy the Mechanik explanation by saintsimon...

Saintsimon suggests Mechanik which sounds plausible, BUT on its page "Pelikan Models 1957-194" www.ruettinger-web.de says "All pens on this site mentioned have the well known Pelikan piston filling system", and then start the list with the P1 series (RG and S types, all fountain pens).The other pen types are M20 through M480.

On the other hand, Pelikan's own site lists the modern offerings on which M stands for the piston filler, so it seems that Mechanik is the best choice after all.

As original as "new" for "N" and "new new" for the "NN" :)

In the Silvexa series, the M was piston and the P was a cartridge!
