I think I posted on something similar to this before, but my brain isn't working correctly enough to find it. ;)

For me, I've recently discovered Nakayas and will soon have two, but I've already talked about that elsewhere here. There are a few other pens that I have multiples of, though:

5 Pilot VP/Decimos - fine, medium, and Binder 0.7mm CI nibs. Awesome writers with "click" convenience.

6 (I think) Lamy Safari/Vista/Al-Star - all fine nibs. Again, great writers that perform well above their price point. Plus, I wouldn't be mortified if I lost one - which has happened.

2 Pilot Custom 823s - one brown medium, one black fine. These guys are just plain cool!!

I have a few other multiples, but I haven't had them in rotation for a (long) while, so I think they might be destined to find new homes soon.

Flow good, ooze bad!

Mike

I have several pens in multiplicity. They are:

Lamy Al-Star-Charcoal and Ocean Blue

Stipula Vedo-Onyx and Ruby

Stipula Ventidue-Blueberry and Raspberry (and I want more!)

Waterman Phileas-Black and Marbled Blue (which will soon be sold)

In addition to what I've listed above, I definitely would not mind getting another Lamy Studio in blue or an MB Starwalker in black resin. Unfortunately, I think both purchases, especially the MB are the long way off.

I've yet to get to the financial stage in life where I can afford multiple copies of the same pen, but I figure I'll end up doing something like that for the Parker 45. It was the pen that truly got me into fountain pens.

I have two Pelikan M215s. They are such wonderful little pens that I would be open to a third or forth if I came across a really good price. I also plan on eventually acquiring a second Sailor Professional Gear, an ivory to go with my black. Generally, though, I don't like to have duplicates--I like having lots of variety.

Don't have any duplicates now but there have been a few pens that I've bought and sold:

M800

Parker 51 & Duofold Centennial

Lamy Safari, Vista & AL-Star

Dolce Vita OS.

Esterbrook J & 444

Don't own any of them now but they seemed to keep creeping up in my group

I tried to do duplicates and failed. If there is a pen I really like I suppose I would buy a few. I'm thinking in the near future I'll probably buy a few more VP's, and have some custom grinds done to them. I just purged my duplicates actually a month ago.

I don't yet have any duplicates (unless you count the Papermates I buy for work and throw away when they're empty -- cheaper to replace 'em than buy a decent refill). I can, however, easily see myself getting one or two more Dollar 717i -- maybe a demonstrator and one in Burgundy to go with the Smoky Gray I have -- and a ten-pack of the Hero 616s. When I can afford to drop $150 on ink, that is...

At the moment my duplicates are:

  • 3 Waterman Edsons (Blue & Gold broad, Green and Gold Oblique Italic, Medium Sterling LE
  • 2 Aurora Optimas
  • 2 Swan Lever fillers, one BHR, one Red ripple hard rubber
  • 3 Parker 51s allmediuum, 1 rolled gold and black, other two with lustalloy caps one teal blue one maroon
  • 3 Pelikan 200s, one blue marbled BB, one green marbled m, one tortoiseshell and brown OB
  • 5 Parker 45s (one fir green, with plastic cap, 1 1970s flighter, one lustalloy cap with maroon barrel, 2 'refresh' flighters- all with theoretically medium nibs except one of the refreshes with an oblique broad
  • 5 Lamy al-star/safaris, charcoal with M, charcoal with 1.1mm italic, black with 1.5mm italic, aluminium with white gold 18k MK (bit of an oddity that one!), annodised green F

I also have a Pelican M400 in ivory and tortoiseshell M on its way, to sit alongside an early green M400 currently with an F. I'm toying with getting a custom flex for one of these....

I enjoy the following pens so much that I have more than one. Of course each one writes differently.

* Parker Duofold Jr., 3: 1924 RHR, 1927 lapis, 1928 cardinal red, all fine nibs

* Aurora Optima, 2: green & blue auroloide, both medium nibs

* Waterman Phileas, 2: older style blue & red marbled, both fine nibs

In the past I have owned multiple Namiki Impressions pens, but now only have the sapphire model with medium nib. I wish I had kept the ruby model with fine nib. I also currently have two 1997 international size Parker Duofolds: pearl and black with fine nib, lapis with medium nib, but the lapis model is for sale.

If I could, I would get a Pelikan 100 (or maybe 100N) with a F or EF nib to accompany my 100 with OM nib

Currently my only duplicates are 2 Reform 1745, 3 cheap Heros and 3 Ratnamson Indian ebonite EDs.

I have a short "duplicate wish list" (a list of pens I would like to buy in duplicate "later"):

  1. MB 149 in B (I have it in EF).
  2. Pilot Custom 823 (B-black, I'll receive a M-brown soon).
  3. Sheaffer Balance OS (I have it in black, would like something more colorful).
  4. Aurora 88 (modern) in rodhium trim (I have it in GT).
  5. Pelikan M1000 (haven't any yet, but would like to have both versions...)

Oh to have that translucent pink Prera! @migo984 has the Oeste series named after birds. There is a pink one, so I’m assuming Este is the same pen as Oeste.    Excellent haul. I have some Uniball One P pens. Do you like to use them? I like them enough, but don’t use them too much yet.    Do you or your wife use Travelers Notebooks? Seeing you were at Kyoto, I thought of them as there is a store there.

It's not nearly so thick that I feel it comprises my fine-grained control, the way I feel about the Cross Peerless 125 or some of the high-end TACCIA Urushi pens with cigar-shaped bodies and 18K gold nibs. Why would you expect me or anyone else to make explicit mention of it, if it isn't a travesty or such a disappointment that an owner of the pen would want to bring it to the attention of his/her peers so that they could “learn from his/her mistake” without paying the price?

Why nobody says that the section of Tuzu besides triangular shape is quite thick. Honestly it’s the thickest one among my many pens, other thick I own is Noodler’s Ahab. Because of that fat section I feel more control and my handwriting has improved. I can’t say it’s comfortable or uncomfortable, but needs a moment to accommodate. It’s funny because my school years are long over. Besides this pen had horrible F nib. Tines were perfectly aligned but it was so scratchy on left stroke that collecte

Awesome! I'm in the process of preparing my bag for our pen meet this weekend and I literally have none of the items you mention!! I'll see if I can find one or two!

@asota -- Yeah, I think I have a few rolls in my fridge that are probably 20-30 years old at this point (don't remember now if they are B&W or color film) and don't even really know where to get the film processed, once the drive through kiosks went away....  I just did a quick Google search and (in theory) there was a place the next town over from me -- but got a 404 error message when I tried to click on the link....  Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth
