Nib ID "Velvet Point"

I bought an esterbrook dip pen and pen holder with square marble base for a dollar half a year ago, and have been using it daily. Just the other day, I found that there was a piece of metal lodgedinside the pen holder flush against the rounded wall.

 

With tweezers, I pulled out the ink encrusted piece and washed it, revealing a gold tone nib with "Velvet Point Made in U.S.A." stamped on it. There doesn't seem to be tipping material. Rather, the tip was made by dimpling the tines downwards to form a rounded surface.

 

What did I find? Is it related to the Diamond Point brand?

Yes! It is a spoon nib, though there is no number "6" stamped on it. I guess it's a low end no-name...

 

I had thought that mabyeDiamond Point was the brand since they made "velvet point 6" nibs, but I guess not.
