Yongxu, if I understand correctly, is a small and relatively new pen workshop in Shanghai. I only know about them because 365Days on AliExpress occasionally carry them. I have their first model, a re-make of the classic Model 28 from many decades ago. It’s a button filler and well made in a very attractive acrylic. Pen enthusiasts in China have shown that model 286 with Yongxu’s distinctive 14K keyhole nib, a very beautiful and distinctive nib. These are pens made by people who like pens and have high standards. These new models promise to increase their popularity. The first is the 116, a simple flat top without trim other than a clip. Four colorways offered, and since only the ‘Coral’ was left, I got one. It’s a piston filler. Note the cap threads at the end of the section and in the last photo, the very moderate step from barrel to section. This is not a conventional design for a flat top and I’m eager to experience how it fits together and feels in hand. The model 296 is offered in more colorways and like the early Duofold it strongly resembles, it is a button filler. There’s a barrel imprint, like a Duofold and I believe it reads: Button Fill/TYPE 286 (in a larger font)/2026 and I believe a string of Chinese characters. If these are as well made as my 286, they are well worth having. All the colorways are good, the Rose Red being quite striking, especially since it resembles one of the colorways of the Streamline Duofold. With the Yongxu nib, the price is $51.50 at AliExpress/Lusfer Store. Lusfer is a mirror store for 365Days, same people. You can save $3 by selecting a Wing Sung nib. Either way, only Fine nibs currently available.
