Hello every pen-lover, I am a Conway Stewart débutante.
Today I finally got my very first CS, and that's a vintage set. FEELING SUPER GREAT AND EXCITED.
As my focus is always on fountain pen, a description of the fp:
Year made: 1933-1942? (the vendor told me so)
Nib: CS 3 or CS1? (I cannot see it.)
Black Peaked-tops (the cap crown)
No cap clip
"Conway Stewart London" on 2nd line
"No. 720" on 3rd line
Pattern: Marbled light + some dark green pearl, brick-like colour veins
I know very little about CS, so how rare is this number and design? As there is a need to change the sac, is there any good website advising on how to service vintage celluloid pen like this one.
Oh, the fountain pen looks far much better than I expect, great!
I dipped the nib with black ink and, the feeling is marvellous. Now I know why there is 2nd, 3rd, 4th market for some high quality fp, quality is there. And how nice I got mine now, the first CS and the first vintage CS. It is small, elegant and think enough for my small hand.
Please, CS guru, enlighten me one the servicing of it. I dare not do anything on it now. Unlike all the previous pens I have, I just open every part up and clean them inside the ultrasonic cleaner. But, not for CS Dandy this time. Gotta collect info before action, scarcity encourages my being cautious.
Many BIG THANK YOU in advance.
