I really wanted Purple Wampum, and then found another purple that satisfied my urge. I did end up buying a bottle for a friend and stealing an ounce of it for myself, I've had it in a Hero 329 I almost never use (at least a month between uses, usually) and it always starts immediately. Very good ink, very free flowing.

Well, I mean, three of my other Heros probably don't work as well. Plus, I recently sanded down (accidentally!) part of one of their feeds, so starting is a terrible bother.

 

But (not just lying for this review) I am going to change the ink in that sanded Hero to Purple Wampum in hopes that this wonderful ink will cure it.

I use Purple Wampum in my Lamy Vista and have no problems with it.

I also use it for my dip pens with out any real dissatisfaction.

Currently for me it is a toss up between the wampum and the martin...leaning toward the wampum.
