Very many thanks for this review I have been waiting for this !

Love the comparison with all the purples.

I still think Montblanc Violet wins it for me, however i would be very keen to try some Yama budo if it was avail able locally at a reasonable cost.

I love the scans of Blue Ghost and Whiteness of the Whale. Just about what I expected. ;)

Nice handwriting! Thank you for a fine review. The color on your handwritten page reminds me of something between Noodler's Saquaro Wine and MB Violet. This is a lovely color.

I was wondering about Saguaro Wine as well. I could send a sample to one FPN member with Saguaro Wine and a scanner or digital camera. If anyone is interested please let me know via PM.

Thanks! I only wish the shiro nib came in a larger size... say #10 or bigger...

I just received my ink and love it. It flows very well and dries pretty fast. Great color.

But just like my lipsticks I keep buying similar colors so I'm going put my second bottle up in the classifieds to trade for one of the other Iroshizuku colors. Since I have Saguaro Wine and J. Herbin rogue, I need to add more diversity in my ink line up.

It took awhile but this is the final part of my review. Attached below are the results of a 10-day light test. The top portion was exposed to a combination of indirect fluorescent/halogen light for 8 hours (more or less) a day. The bottom portion was exposed to direct sunlight for approx. the same amount of time.

My bottle was just delivered yesterday and I loaded up my Falcon to give it a try in a Clairefontaine notebook.

All I have to say is that this ink is DELICIOUS (looking) and the shading is sexy.

I really love this ink!

You have beautiful handwriting! Thanks for the reviews. It reminds me a lot of PR Plum. It's one of my favorite colors.

if anyone knows of a uk source of this or a source which reasonable postage to uk could you let me know.

All sources i have seen have would mean total cost of ownership > 20 pounds for 1 bottle.

I'd like to try this ink - but dont want to pay that much.

You might check out Jetpens (http://www.jetpens.com/shipping.php), their international shipping doesn't look so bad.

Thanks for the info (I only used B&W film and learned to process that).   Boy -- the stuff I learn here!  Just continually astounded at the depth and breadth of knowledge in this community! Ruth Morrisson aka inkstainedruth

It just wasn't likely to have been Kodachrome.  It would have been the films I referred to as "other color films." (Kodachrome is not a generic term for color film. It is a specific film that produces transparencies, or slides, by a process not used for any other film. There are other color trans

@Ceilidh -- Well, I knew people who were photography majors in college, and I'm pretty sure that at least some of them were doing photos in color, not just B&W like I learned to process.  Whether they were doing the processing of the film themselves in one of the darkrooms, or sending their stuff out to be processed commercially?  That I don't actually know, but had always assumed that they were processing their own film. Kodachrome 25 was the most accurate film for clinical photography and was used by dermatologists everywhere. I got magnificent results with a Nikon F2 and a MicroNikkor 60 mm lens, using a manually calibrated small flash on a bracket. I wish there were a filter called "Kodachrome 25 color balance" on my iPhone camera.
