girlieg, this shade looks very similar to FPN's ink Tulipe Noir, which I was able to sample this week thanks to a friend. Have you used that - would you say that it's a very close match? I liked that shade but the FPN ink is a little pricey to my mind...I like Herbin inks, have two of them and they have been well-behaved. I like the paleness of this compared to say, Private Reserve Purple Mojo.

TN is $12 plus shipping for a 3 ounce bottle, isn't it? Herbin is $9 for a ~1 ounce bottle. Even if you can swing in to a store like Pendemonium (which is where I got the $9), I'm not sure I see how TN could be considered pricey in this particular comparison.

Yes, somewhere around $1,150 / u.s. gallon sounds about right for J. Herbin.

For a main line traditional ink, I have always been rather supprised at the price.

YMMV

I had Purple Mojo and gave it away. Purple Mojo is purple on steroids which might appeal to some but I found it too intense. I like this one much better, along with CdA Storm and Herbin's Poussiere de Lune. This one is a touch brighter than those two, but it has a mellow quality nonetheless that I happen to like.

I don't have Tulipe Noire, so I cannot compare it to this one. However, going by the scans I've seen here, TN looks to be much more darker than Larmes de Cassis -- in fact much darker. From the scans of TN, this appears to be lighter, has more translucency, and a more delicate purple. It also has great shading properties.

Edit: Finished a thought in the middle of a timed-out error.

Thanks for the review!

I love both Storm & Poussière de Lune so I'm tempted by Larme de Cassis. Do you have any scan where Larme de Cassis is beside Storm or Poussière de Lune?

Thanks again!
