Fountain Pen Network Limited Edition

It arrived today, is filled and I have been writing with it... here are my initial impressions.

 

First Impressions 5/5

An absolutely stunning pen.

Very well made

 

Appearance 5/5

Blue Cracked Ice with a very nice medium blue cap and body tassie with rhodium trim makes this a stunning pen to look at.

The FPN lettering is tastefully laser engraved on the top of the cap tassie.

 

Design 5/5

Based on the Bexley Symplicity you could not ask for any more in the way of a simple, user friendly designed pen.

It is very light and comfortable to the hand and feels nice when you write.

Even to someone like me who is used to the smaller section areas of a Parker 51.

 

Nib 4/5

Only a 4 because I did not get the gold nib and can not compare it.

Like all Bexley steel nibs this one is butter smooth from the first stroke.

I filled the pen with Noodlers La Couleur Royale and the pen puts down an accurate fine line that I would rate as about 6.5/10 in wetness...

Personally, I don’t see how the gold nib could be that much better.

 

Filling System 3/5

Only because I am not a big fan of C/C fillers...

The converter that comes with the pen is a good on and filled completely and does not seem to be hanging the ink on the walls...

 

Cost and Value 5/5

Where are you going to get a Limited Edition pen for $95.00 that looks and writes as good as this one does.

 

Conclusion 27/30

I will definitely be looking at the LE pen that FPN decides to do, especially if Bexley is chosen as the company to make it.

 

BTW, this review was done using Jonro's Fountain Pen Database that he made available to all of us.... I really like it... Great job

Got mine today as well. The gold stub nib is very nice.

 

Added bonus. The Stipula screw in nibs also fit perfectly!! So now I have a variety of italic sizes and some other sizes as well.( once stumbled into a dealer selling off Stipula nibs)

 

Nice pen. I espescially like the Laser engraved FPN logo on the top. They should have engraved LE numbers on the barrel though( 1of 115, 2of 115 etc.).
