I was waiting to see a sample of that ink. I'm glad you said it looked greenish-black, because that's what I saw in the scan. I'm not a blue-black fan at all because I haven't found one that "ages" well. They almost all end up looking grey with time.

I really dig this color. I still dont know whay it is classified as a blue Black. It isnt!!! It is a greenish black. Awesome flow properties!! It will make the most stubbern pen gush with ink!! The ink makes the pen nib float across the paper. This is on the same level as Aurora Black when it comes to saturation, flow and lubercation. Great stuff!!!

I've been using it for a few months in a Rotring Core with a fine nib, and when I first used it, I thought it had a tint similar to Noodlers Turquoise (now there's an interesting greenish shade!). BTW, it's the first ink that I've seen in a scan that looks the same shade IRL in my journals!!

I've noticed that long (minutes??) after I've written a paragraph, there are some wet highlights in the written lines which will smear if my hand rubs across them.

I've found that if I use this pen & ink to make entries into a record book at work, It's a good idea to insert a large piece of blotting paper into the book and press it onto the newly written entries to prevent this.

Has anyone else noticed this phenomenon?

Interesting color as I don't see the "blue" in it at all. I wonder is it the scan? Though, from your description, that isn't the case.

I've never been fond of blue-black ink, but I might take a second look at this one.

Nope its not the scan nor is it your eyes!! Noodlers calls this Air Corp Blue Black. There is NO I reapeat NO blue in this ink. I really think this should be called Air Corp Olive Black

Well, you don't get it, do you now? You're talking about the army here. If the sergeant tells you it is Blue Black, it is Blue Black. 200 push-ups for you, mister! Right now!

I love this ink, it is one of my top five. A lot of people really dislike it for the green undertones, but I find them beautiful.

I'm doing my gigantic copying project with ABB, I'll try and make a scan soon. This is a great ink for a flex nib.

Oh I knew exactly what I was getting when i bought it. I was expecting green. I was just expecting more green. I still love this color though!

Hmm... you're the first person I've seen comment on the lack of green in ABBK - would you say there are other colors like blue (Blue-black maybe? :P) or just less green and more black than you thought?

And is the waterfastness like other near-bulletproof inks - color washes off, black stays? That's what it sounds like, although it seems that there is far less color mixed in with the black component than other near-bulletproof inks.

Oh, and since I've heard this ink described as a black with green in it, doesn't that sound like Zhivago? How do the two inks compare?

I don't have Zhivago so I can't comment on that. Aircorp Blue-Black is definitely green. I was just expecting it to be more bright than it is. I was expecting black with more green. Like i said in my review, you really have to look to tell that there is any other color in there. Yeah the waterfastness is like you said. Some really light blue washes off, but the black there is so thick that it hardly matters. For example, my Noodler's Red-Black lightens up quite a bit to a light brown when washed off. Its still visible, but about half as dark as it was before. This Aircorp Blue-Black hardly makes a difference. I will do another water test and scan it on here when i get back to school on monday. I will also scan the page that I wrote for the review since all I had was a camera here at home.

Thanks for the photo of Aircorp! I'd love to see a comparison of Zhivago and Aircorp too. It would help me decide which of the two to purchase! For now, I'm inclined towards Aircorp, since, from what I've read, it's not as dark as Zhivago and might show a little more green.

ABB definitely shows more green than Zhivago in my experience. Zhivago is close to black in most pens, but ABB shows its green undertones even in fine-nibbed pens.

When you get ABB wet, you get a black line that stays and a wash of turquoise (looks a lot like Navajo Turquoise) that washes off. A single drop of water makes a pretty turquoise dot, for those of us who like that kind of thing. ;)

Since I normally buy my ink in bulk at the end of the year, I decided to buy a few bottles of AACBB, my supply was just about gone. This is a great ink that flows well and has great lubrication properties. Even though the ink has a bit of a greenish/black tint and I am limited to using Blue, Blue/black and Black ink at work, this is an ink that really fits into those criteria and I use fairly often at work.

I REALLY like Aircorps, first Noodlers I bought and I'm glad -- very close to black but not quite, enough to make it interesting (and yes, I'm getting all the Noodler's "almost blacks" eventually!).

It does indeed have blue in it, but not as much as it has black, and some green as well.

Lovely ink.

I carry a pen with Aircorp nearly all the time.

Thank you, that's timely news. I'm heading to the store tomorrow to pick up a bottle of Aircorp BB (and PR DC Supershow Blue). I'll save Zhivago for another time if I want another "interesting black."

Wet Aircorp's "wash of turqouise" sounds great!

Today I used this ink at work, and as i was filling out a new timesheet, this color clicked. I love it! By itself, it takes close attention to notice the beautiful almost black. But when used on a form with black printed ink, it looks amazing. You can clearly tell that its not black. It made me look at it all day and comparing the color. It almost looks like the ink is glowing.

I use black or blue-black type inks exclusively. AirCorp is a great color, but a little more blue/turquoise relative to Noodlers Blue-Black. Zhivago is much more like black, with subtle brown or green hints depending on pen and paper.

I'm going to order my first ABB very soon, but for now, it sounds like ABB is to Squeteague (dark blue-green) what Zhivago is to Sequoia.

I'm very excited to find out first hand! B)
